Today is International Day of Play, and it feels like the perfect opportunity to reflect on just how lucky I am to be able to hold the space in our nature and sensory play sessions for tiny people to let their imaginations run wild 🥹

Sharing some of my favourite play stations over the last year or so 🌸 ➡️

For privacy reasons I don’t share the arguably most magical part! Delight and concentration on little faces, connection between families and community, it’s the absolute best.

Play can look simple from the outside, but it’s doing such important work. Through play, children learn, create, connect, problem solve, explore, and make sense of the world around them.

In a world that often feels busy and rushed, there is something incredibly special about watching a child become completely immersed in wonder, curiosity, and joy.

Today, let’s celebrate play in all its forms and remember that some of the most important childhood memories are made when children are given the time, freedom, and space to simply play. ✨🌿

✨Our favourites from Harmony Week✨

Realising I hardly took any pics but here’s what we did to celebrate Harmony Week…

👋We explored how to say ‘Hello’ in different languages around the world.

🤗 Made an ‘about me’ artwork and talked about what makes us unique and used our colours of the world crayons to match our skin tones

🎨Big collaboration artwork with our huge canvas and eco paints

☀️ We smelt spices from around the world and matched where they came from

🐨 Playdough using indigenous stamps and symbols

🙏🏼 a Calm corner with lots of beautiful books celebrating diversity and the theme of belonging.

✨So much sensory fun including mandarin scented oobleck, rice pouring trays, Ice and water play, wooden water pouring set and of course our potion kitchen 🧡
