Earlier this week, we went out to PwC Australia in Perth for a visit. While we were there, we were lucky enough to be joined by PwC Australia's CEO, Kevin Burrowes.

PwC have been long-time supporters of Guide Dogs WA, and it's always great to get to tell them what we've been up to. And, of course, our superstar Ambassador dogs - Greg and Zuma, always steal the show!

This visit was organised by PwC Perth's Ability network, an employee-led community within PwC Australia, dedicated to supporting staff with disabilities.

If your organisation would like to find out more about a visit, please reach out to us at: [email protected]

On Friday night, our incredible volunteers and staff from Guide Dogs WA and VisAbility joined fellow community groups at the Town of Victoria Park Volunteer Sundowner.
A perfect way to close out National Volunteer Week, the evening was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the people who give their time, care and energy to strengthen our community.
While we didn’t take home an award this year, we’re so proud to have been nominated alongside so many inspiring individuals and organisations making a difference every day.
It was a fantastic evening connecting, celebrating and recognising the everyday heroes who make our community stronger.
Thank you to the Town of Victoria Park for hosting such a meaningful event — and to our volunteers, we couldn’t do what we do without you.

We’re proud to celebrate our partnership with the Boronia Pre‑Release Centre for Women, which has been recognised with the Community Partnership Award at Department of Justice WA’s Corrective Services Awards.

Through this program that began in 2024, women at Boronia help raise and train our future Guide and Assistance Dogs — building confidence and skills and making a positive contribution to the community while giving puppies the best start in life.

One of the first pups to go through the program, Pablo, is already supporting a young person living with autism.

Congratulations to the Boronia Puppy Team on this well‑deserved achievement. This partnership continues to change lives — both human and canine — across Western Australia.

It’s National Volunteer Week this week – a time where we all come together to appreciate the people who give up their time, effort, and expertise to help organisations like ours be their best selves.

At Guide Dogs WA, there can be no question, we simply couldn’t do what we do without the help of our amazing volunteers. Whether that’s through our Puppy Raisers, our Bed & Breakfast and Temporary Boarders, our Breeding Stock Carer and Home Whelpers, or our Community Fundraising & Events Volunteers, their contributions to our mission are varied an immeasurable.

This video was shot on International Guide Dog Day, just one of many occasions throughout the year that are only made possible thanks to the support of our volunteers. Please join us in celebrating all that they, and all volunteers do, out of the generosity of their hearts.

A huge thank you to the amazing volunteers at Horizon Power who baked batches of “Bark Bite” dog biscuits to support our fundraising efforts.

These tasty treats sold out in no time at our International Guide Dog Day stalls.

Volunteers also had the chance to meet our friendly Ambassador Dog, Greg, and learn more about the life‑changing services Guide Dog WA provides.

Guide Dogs WA Graduation May 2026 12/05/2026

This month Guide Dogs WA celebrated a new class of graduates, and the incredible community behind each dog’s journey.

From Puppy Raisers and Boarders to trainers, breeders, sponsors and supporters, the small community behind each dog was acknowledged on stage, honouring the collective effort that makes these life‑changing partnerships possible.

The impact was felt through stories from new handlers and their families — including Vicki Rosewall, who shared how her son Logan’s Autism Assistance Dog, Ultra, helps him regulate:

"When things became too much for Logan, we were asked to sit him on the ground and Ultra did exactly what he’s trained to do — he lay across Logan’s legs and performed a technique called ‘cuddle’,” she said.

"In that moment, I’ll never forget the sound of the tension easing. (Logan) stood up for the very first time, held hands, and we moved forward as a family.”

Congratulations to the Class of May 2026.
