So I figured it’s time for a little update seen as there had been some progress behind the scenes of late. It was a slow start to the year with quite a few setbacks, but just last week we got the slab down and I couldn’t be more proud of the progress I’ve been making.
The plumbing is in, the limestone wall for the table has been built, and the retaining wall has been filled (almost) - my trusty bobcat mate will be back again soon to bring more sand so I can get the retic in and the lawn down.
I’ll have to wait a few weeks for the concrete to set before I can drill the shed walls into it - but the plans have been approved by the council so I’m good to go when the time has passed!
Also note the paw prints from dear Arlo on the fresh pad (pic 6 I think) - as soon as the concreters left after a 10 hour day she wandered across the slab! I couldn’t bear to ask them to come back so I accepted the fate of the paws that I’ll learn to love more as time goes by.
Who knows, maybe Pottery Club will be back in only a few months 🤗 I’ll keep you updated nonetheless.
Take care out there! Lots of love xx ❤️

UPDATE 💕 I’ve spent the last four days building this retaining wall - a critical part of the shed progress! Inside this wall will be my lawn area and beyond the wall will be the shed (which is sitting in pieces in my front yard 🫠). Development Approval has been granted by the council, and I’m waiting for plans to be drawn of the shed so I can apply for building approval.
So, now that I’ve built this wall, early in the new year I’ll be building the formwork and getting the slab poured for the shed! Then, with Building Approval, the shed will go up and pottery will be on again 🎉
I am honestly so so proud of myself for what I’ve built here. I did it all on my own (with Arlo’s help of course 😉), and in the heat too - the last few days have been stinking hot 🥵, but I’m a Pilbara girl and I don’t mind working in the heat to be quite honest.
I’m thinking by March we should definitely be back up and running ❤️
Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and I look forward to seeing you next year ❤️❤️❤️ And thank you for all of your support throughout the year and patience while I take some time to set things up properly. I am so grateful ❤️❤️

HELLO! 🌻 I’ve had a few people reach out recently asking about Pottery Club and Workshops, so I figured I’ve been hiding for long enough without posting an update.
These photos were taken of the beautiful women who came to my most recent workshop in July. It was such a beautiful Saturday morning with the heater on and the tunes blissfully playing in the background as four friends reconnected for a gorgeous birthday celebration.
Since then, I have moved out of the premises I was silently running Pottery Club from and have placed all of my pottery belongings into storage. I’ve taken a break from running my business and have been working very hard behind the scenes to prep my backyard for building my own shed on, so I will finally have a studio of my own and a place for Alex Rae Home to belong!
I found a brilliant shed on marketplace and I knew it as soon as I saw it, it was mine. It’s currently sitting in pieces in my front yard. I’ve cleared the weeds and rubble from my backyard last break, and this break I have a bobcat coming to level the area I’m going to lay my slab on! Plans are sitting with the council, and I’m hoping by Christmas I’ll be up and running!
I’m very excited. I’ve worked really hard to get things where they are and I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved this year, and last. I’m really grateful for the wonderful souls I’ve met through this journey, and I can’t wait to open back up and have their beautiful energy fill my home and studio once again ❤️
I also can’t wait to meet the new members of our community. Those who have reached out and those who I’m yet to hear from. This shed is going to be so much more than just a studio, it’s going to hold sacred space for community, and so much more. Pottery is just the beginning 🌻
Thanks for reading if you made it through all of that. I love you, and thank you for being here on this journey with me ❤️

Good morning All 🌻
As I have been transitioning back into fifo life, Arlo has been having to adjust also. As an anxious dog in other peoples homes, she’s not transitioning very well unfortunately. She is my world and my biggest priority, so I thought I’d turn to my community and ask if there’s anyone out there that can, or know of someone who can help.
My roster is 8:6, I fly out Wednesday mornings and am home the following Wednesday evening. I am looking for someone to stay in my beloved home for free for the week I am away, in exchange for taking care of Arlo.
I’m always talking about how amazing the dog group is around the corner from my house, so there’s plenty of support there when it comes to Arlo (and anything else you might need).
I just need someone I can trust, who loves dogs, and can appreciate and respect my home and property as though it is their own.
Preferably a single female, perhaps a single female working fifo on my opposite swing?
My property is an unfinished work in progress, but I’ve created some pretty special spaces to chill out and snuggle with Arlo, which is her favourite thing to do.
Arlo’s an adventurer - she loves long unleashed walks in the bush and beach. Mundy National Park is 15 minutes away and I also walk her along the river in Ascot.
If this sounds like the perfect scenario for you or you have a daughter/sister/mother/friend who suits this opportunity brilliantly, please get in touch. I’m looking for a long term solution for miss Arlo so she can settle into our new lifestyle ❤️🐾

Hello 👋🏾 It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted anything on here. I’ve been making big adjustments in my life to make my pottery dreams come true.
Firstly, I’ve started fifo as an electrician again and have adjusted Pottery Club to suit. It now takes place on alternating Tuesdays and Thursdays because I fly to/from work of Wednesdays.
This year so far I’ve moved out of the Carlisle Collective, built a concrete slab with my Pottery gang and moved my kiln and kiln shed home with the help of my dog park crew. (Both of which were huge jobs!).
My old pergola kind of blew away a few months ago so I ripped it down and rebuilt it using timber I salvaged from a friends place - lots of work involved in retrieving the timbers, sanding them back and oiling them, building the structure, and most of all the roof!
I’ve also been concreting, paving, brick laying, grinding.. the list goes on. And the memory on my phone has been full so I’ve been taking the odd progress snap here and there but nothing outrageous. I’ll share all that I can in a few weeks when I’ve finished it all.
The biggest project for this year hasn’t even started yet - my new shed. I’m going to build a 6mx6m shed in the backyard for the sole purpose of pottery! I’ve got so many ideas and the universe has my back, sending me the right people along the way. So hopefully by the end of the year Alex Rae Home will have a new workshop and everything will be in the one place! Workshops, Pottery Club, and a studio all in one 💕
I’m also trying to spend as much quality time with my little Angel, Arlo, on my days off. I miss her so much while I’m away but I explain to her it’s what I need to do to afford to pay for her lifestyle (and my new shed!).
I’ll share some more photos when I’ve finished my little project. But I’m still here in the background if anyone has any questions or would like to reach out 🌻
