2019 MG ZS was in for its first 10000km log book service this week. Built in China ,this model has a three cylinder 1 litre turbo charged petrol engine and a seven year new car warranty. For around $25k you could say that’s a pretty good deal considering the warranty period.

Two Toyota Hybrid vehicles in for servicing and repairs today. 2006 Prius and 2014 Camry. Let’s just say the Hybrid vehicles are starting to look a little nicer as they get more advanced and common. The Prius isn’t the best looking car I’ve seen!

Replacing the worn clutch on a 1993 80 series Toyota Landcruiser with a Holden 6.0lt V8 Commodore engine conversion this week. We replaced the rear main oil seal, machined the flywheel and fitted a new heavy duty clutch. The V8 conversion is much better than the original 4.5 lt straight six cylinder under powered petrol guzzler these vehicle came out with.

Back to old school servicing today using jacks and vehicle stands due to not being able to use the hoists thanks to the power outage. Luckily the power was turned back on just a few minutes after we had finished all the services today!! 😩

You don’t see many of these on the road anymore, especially in immaculate condition like this one. 1993 Ford EB Falcon GLI. Ford’s first Falcon with ABS brakes and a 4.0lt overhead camshaft multipoint injected six cylinder engine. A good example of an original well looked after vehicle here, including the original radio!

A common repair on the Holden VE Commodores is the rear wheel bearings needing replacing. The outer CV joint splines are almost always siezed inside the hub. Rather than hitting the CV joint and basically destroying it , we use a hydraulic puller to push the CV joint out of the hub. We can then remove the stub axle and replace the bearing a hub using the hydraulic press. Using the right tools for the right job will always ensure a good repair and happy customer!

Another fine example of why getting your vehicle serviced regularly is very important. Just because your car feels like it’s running ok , doesn’t mean you can ignore that service sticker! This vehicle presented with a strange buzzing noise coming from the oil filter housing. We suspected the oil strainer/pickup may have been blocked due to lack of oil changes. After removing the oil pan we were pretty sure our prediction was correct! A good clean and new oil and filter , followed by a second oil and filter change after a decent test drive luckily saved this engine .

VW Golf GTI in for a service and coolant leak. After inspecting the vehicle we needed to replace radiator due to the core leaking. Getting to the radiator sometimes means a bit of panel work too!
