Today Yonga 3 and 2 had a special visit from one of Bertram’s very own aspiring Geologists. …The rock and mineral expert, Bryden from Year 5. Bryden brought some of his very own rock collection from home and talked to us about rocks and minerals like amethyst, volcanic rocks, red jasper and quarts. He answered so many of our questions and shared his great knowledge and passion. Year 3’s were very lucky to extend their Science learning today and look at his collection. Thank you, Bryden!

Nestory makes history ⚽🥅
Former Grovelands Primary School student Nestory Irankunda etched his name into history as the youngest Socceroos player to score at a FIFA World Cup over the weekend.
The 20-year-old was named the Player of the Match for his tremendous World Cup debut in Australia's 2-0 win over Turkiye.
Thank You, Bertram School Community!
We would like to extend a big thank you from the PE Department to all students, parents, and staff for your efforts and positive attitudes during our recent Cross Country event. The day certainly tested us early, with wet and chilly conditions to start, but it was fantastic to see the weather turn, finishing in much brighter conditions and providing a great end to the event.
As always, days like these only happen thanks to the support of our Bertram staff, who had students training and preparing for the big day, and our dedicated volunteers, your time and commitment are greatly appreciated.
Our students did Bertram proud. Their resilience, determination, and willingness to embrace the challenge, despite the tough start, were outstanding. Whether competing for a place, pushing to the finish, or encouraging others, students showed our FRREE behaviours and a strong sense of community throughout.
Learning that they can take on and complete big challenges is such a powerful life skill, and it was fantastic for us to see this growth on display.
We are incredibly proud to be part of such a positive and supportive school community, and we thank everyone for helping make the day a success.
We know our new Principal, Ms Bewetz, was devastated to miss the day due to illness, but we also know she is looking forward to supporting our team at the Interschool Cross Country next term.
Students who are in contention for the interschool squad will be announced over the coming week.
Thanks again,
Your PE Team
