If a family chooses a city school over yours, what do they believe theyโre gaining and are they right? This session explores how regional schools can shift the narrative from being seen as an alternative to becoming a first choice.

Together, we will unpack what truly sets regional schools apart and how to communicate that clearly and confidently to prospective families.
We will explore where the pressure from city schools is being felt most strongly across the enrolment journey and how schools are responding in practical ways. The conversation will also look at how to strengthen the experience for families who choose regional, ensuring they become your most powerful advocates.
Join your peers to share insights, challenge assumptions and refine how you position your school in an increasingly competitive landscape.

The WA Chapter would like to thank our regional Members for joining us for this recent morning coffee catch-up, held last week in Bunbury.
The next ed+connect - Caffeinated by Fotoworks event is happening at the Hylin Cafe in West Leederville, on Thursday this week! Donโt miss it - register here: https://lnkd.in/gT9m9vYt
Last week's Bunbury Coffee Catch-up was a fabulous opportunity to grab a coffee, reconnect with each other in an informal setting, hear more about what Educate+ has in store for 2026 and provide your ideas about what a future regional PD session might look like.
The conversation was wide-ranging, broad ranging and meaningful. We talked about photography, photo permissions, children in socials posts, alumni and alumni programs, event management, procedures in general, and the pros and cons of a range of software and systems. We also discussed future PD in a lively chat. This informal event was a great reminder of the value of taking opportunities to catch up in person, have these conversations face to face, and connect and provide support to one another (especially through a regional lens).
Thank you to the WA Chapter Committee who organised this Event: Laura Kendall F.EdPlus, Steven Wellbeloved, Georgia Bosustow, Margo Bastow CPM GAICD F.EdPlus, Julia Bairstow, Kellie Hasluck, Nicole Kirk, Kamyra Laurenson, Anushia Suppiah, and Filippos Tritas MBA.
Thank you to the Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School for hosting the event, and thank you to the WA Chapter Sponsor Fotoworks School Photography, for their continued support of the WA Chapter.

What a fantastic afternoon at our NSW/ACT Chapter Special Interest Group event hosted by International Grammar School, with more than 100 advancement and business professionals coming together to learn, share, and connect. It was wonderful to welcome so many new faces, including colleagues joining us from ASBA, for a rich afternoon of conversation around the intersection of Marketing, Admissions, and People & Culture in schools.
Our People & Culture panel explored the challenge of attracting and retaining the right people in an increasingly competitive staffing market, with thoughtful discussion around workplace culture, leadership, and what helps schools build thriving teams. Thank you to Kate Larkin (Beaumont People), Bree Bond, and Derrick McCarthy (Norwest Christian College) for sharing their expertise.
Our Admissions panel unpacked the often invisible work of admissions teams, discussing peak enrolment pressures, resourcing challenges, and the strategic impact admissions has on shaping school growth and sustainability. Thank you to Sarah Barker (Wenona), Mark Elkington (Norwest Christian College), and Richard Arkell (Meriden) for such a practical and insightful discussion.
In Marketing & Communications, Brad Entwistle from imageseven led a hands-on session exploring generative AI, prompt creation, workflow efficiencies, and the importance of maintaining school voice and identity in an AI-enabled world.
A huge thank you to our host, International Grammar School, to Georgia Barnes and Acting Principal Thom Marchbank, to our speakers and panellists, and to everyone who joined us for such a valuable afternoon of learning and connection.
Thank you to the NSW/ACT Chapter Committee who organised this Event: Yvette Graniero GAICD, Hannah Atwell, Lyn O'Neill, Dana Casimaty, Georgia Barnes, Mary Kazzi Calabro, Trish Cartwright, Jiani Chen, Michelle de Rooy, Sandy Goddard, Lucinda Gray, Amberley Guilly, Mandy Loomes, Adrian Quig, Marie Soghomonian, Sebastian Wattam, Amelia Zaraftis.

What an inspiring day! The VIC Learning Exchange brought together 80 professional services staff from institutions across Victoria to learn, connect & reflect on the future of engagement, admissions, alumni & fundraising in education.
A huge thank you to our presenters for delivering sessions filled with insight, affirmation & practical takeaways.
๐ข๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฒ๐๐ป๐ผ๐๐ฒ: One of the standout themes from Blueboatโs presentation was the growing importance of trust, identity & belonging in education. In a world of uncertainty, schools are no longer chosen simply for academic outcomes. They are chosen for what they represent, how they make people feel, & whether families see their own values reflected in the institution.
โBrand is what people say about you when youโre not in the room.โ More than logos or messaging, brand is built through every touchpoint. Trust, not loyalty, is now the foundation for sustainable enrolment, alumni engagement & philanthropy. Alumni return because schools reconnect them to memories, identity & belonging. Donors increasingly want reassurance that what they care about will endure & create meaningful human impact. The key lesson? Identity beats utility every time.
๐ ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐น๐ฎ๐๐: Masterclass facilitators led insightful deep dives into five tailored streams.
๐๐ป-๐๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป: Jon Yeo CSP's TEDx Melbourne talk explored how influence & messaging are about connection, identity & emotional resonance. He challenged organisations to move beyond โdata for dataโs sakeโ & focus on the human experience behind every interaction.
In a world of constant digital consumption, audiences engage with messages that are simple, meaningful & aligned with purpose. Great brands donโt just market to audiences; they build communities around shared beliefs & identity. The strongest institutions understand what creates belonging & design experiences around connection, aspiration & shared future.
The session reinforced that influence is built through clarity & consistency, not one-off campaigns. As schools navigate a future shaped by AI, evolving learning models & shifting expectations, the challenge is not only to communicate what a school does, but clearly articulate who it is, what it believes & the future it is helping young people prepare for.
Thank you to the VIC/TAS Chapter Committee for Organising this Event: Kaushini Fernando, Maria Mercuri, Catherine McVean, Murray Osborne, Carla Baker, Anna Beattie, Sophie Borrillo-McLellan, Mirella Busso-Lee, Hayley Galloway, Melissa Martin, Phillip Tascone, Jasmin T.
Thank You to the VIC/TAS Sponsors who supported this event: Blueboat, MGR&CO and DGB Global.
