A quick trip to Perth to celebrate everyone’s best friend, I say everyone’s best friend because that’s how we all feel about him. We all have a story about Upul and how he was there for us, I don’t know if I would be here making you guys laugh if it wasn’t for this man. At my most challenging time he was that friend that checked in, showed up and held space for me until I was able to work through my challenges.

I remember when I told him I wanted to do comedy there was no doubt or judgment on his face just “do what you want cause you will be great at it”. He let me practice my first 45 min comedy set in front of him every day for a whole month, I mean weekends included. It didn’t matter if it was 10pm at night I would call him and he would say yes come over and he would even heckle me at times and I would have to respond and continue with my jokes as if it was a real show and when I asked to sit down on the couch and do the set as it was just two of us, he would say “no, stand up, take it seriously let’s not be lazy” ❤️.

To watch him find love, and watch Fijiola love on him the way she does truly melts my heart. I am so happy for them, there’s no way I would have missed this celebration, congrats to the lovely couple Upul & Fijiola!

I was one of four nominated for performance of the year award and your boy didn’t win but I won if you know what I mean, best night ever. I had a hot Maltese date, I found Wakanda, there was great food, great music, surrounded by great ppl looking and smelling like a million bucks!

I’ve never seen an event like it in Australia, a big congrats to the team behind Amari Gala.
