A picture tells a powerful story and the ending of Wilfred Owen’s poem, Dulce et Decorum, seems fitting here,
Dulce et decorum est
Pro partia mori.

The latin phrase is from the Roman poet Horace, “it is sweet and fitting to die for one’s country”. Highlighting the irony that it was not sweet or fitting that so many gave their lives for their country.

At venturD on ANZAC Day, we honour those men and women who have served or currently serving in the defence forces and remember those who have fallen.

We’re having a well earned break!

Over the festive season our office will be closed from Friday 19 December and we will be reopening on Monday 5 January. While the office is closed email will continue to be monitored over the break.

According to the Australian War Memorial collection, an unidentified cinematographer captured the last shots to be fired before the armistice on the 11 November 1918. It’s a powerful image.

All of the team at Blake Digital will be pausing at 11 am to observe one minute’s silence to remember those who fought for our country in all armed conflicts and the fallen men and women who did not come home.
