Celebrating Mother’s Day at MercyCare Early Learning 💐

At MercyCare Banksia Grove Early Learning Centre, children created heartfelt artworks to celebrate the important people in their lives, exploring creativity through hands-on play.

Families at MercyCare Thornlie Early Learning Centre also came together for a special Mother’s Day celebration filled with activities, laughter, photo booth fun and light refreshments.

One rainy morning, the children and educators at Thornlie had an opportunity to suit up in their rain jackets and explore the centre in the rain. 🌧

The children quickly adapted to the change in weather and routine, engaging in a unique activity whilst having fun with their peers.

They also learnt about sustainability by collecting rain water into different sized containers. Exploring different sensory experiences with sand, natural materials and our recycled rain water.

In the spirit of Earth Day our Wembley and Landsdale children explored our beautiful planet through messy, creative play, mixing colours, feeling textures, and connecting with nature 💙🌱

We know it’s been an unsettling time for many families across Perth, with several early learning centres recently closing their doors.

As a WA-based, not-for-profit organisation, MercyCare is here to support families during this time.

Meet Choc Chip - Ellenbrook's fluffy friend! 🐹🍪

Choc Chip has been enjoying lots of gentle pats, quiet cuddles and tasty treats with the children. 💕

Spending time with Choc Chip gives children the opportunity to learn how to be calm, respectful and caring with living things.

A very special part of their day, Choc Chip always brings smiles during visit times.

Getting out in nature at Wembley ELC 🌿

The children at Wembley have been making the most of the outdoors, especially during Nature Play Week. Using soft playdough alongside natural materials like leaves, they explored textures, shapes and creativity in a hands-on way.

They also enjoyed collecting leaves, flowers and even bananas from the garden, connecting with the natural environment around them.

As part of our Kiddo Program, the children brought their imaginations to life through Animal Walks - stomping like dinosaurs and stepping confidently through the grass as they embraced the joy of active play.

We loved celebrating Easter across our Early Learning Centres 🐣🌈
From egg hunts to creative crafts, it was a week full of fun, exploration and little moments of joy 💛
