So they sold you a defib, took your money and left you to figure out what it means when it flashes 3x instead of once every 5 seconds.
When you called for a warranty issue there were a whole host of reasons that warranty was voided… none of which you even knew were an issue - because nobody ever took the time to explain it at the point of sale.
It’s not enough to simply buy a defib. They have a shelf-life and maintenance needs, recalls and notices that you have to keep on top of.

Your defibrillator is rated 0–50°C. That’s not the number that matters.
It’s the operating range — the temperature the unit can be used at. Buried further in the same manual is a second figure: the long-term storage range. It’s the one that applies to a device sitting in a cabinet for eight years.
LIFEPAK CR2 → 15–25°C
ZOLL AED Plus pads → 0–35°C
Philips HeartStart HS1 → 10–43°C standby
Powerheart G5 → 20–30°C
Mindray BeneHeart → 15–35°C
A north-facing lockbox in Perth sits outside most of those for a good part of the year.
And the unit will still show green. A self-test checks its own electronics — not whether the gel in the pads has been slowly drying out.
