Last night was my first ever Citizenship Ceremony! It was an honour to present gifts and welcome the 80 new citizens, many of whom have been here for decades. Fantastic speeches from our Mayor and Deputy Mayor on their personal histories with citizenship.

Grear to see and hear speeches from Zaneta Mascarenhas MP and Cassie Rowe MLA celebrating the new chapter embarked on by our newest Australians and the joy of diversity in our community.

Congratulations to all - and remember: it's extremely Australian to not remember the second verse of the Anthem.

Hello Belmont! I am the new Councillor, just sworn in last night (22/10). For anyone confused by the lack of recent election, this resulted from the resignation of Councillor Vijay last week and my being a runner-up in the election last year.

I'm looking forward to digging into the absolute brick of documents I have to familiarise myself with. It will be fantastic to work with our seven other councillors and the super-busy Mayor Robert Rossi - City of Belmont to help make good decisions for the future of Belmont. The Council and senior officers were very kind in welcoming me last night.
