this 2016 trend made me reflect on one of the most influential years of my life.
some years don’t just pass.
they shape you.
…interesting what comes back to the surface when you’re on the edge of another shift.
#2016
For me, burnout came from being out of alignment.
… doing work that didn’t feel like a full yes.
… comparing my pace to people who work on their business full-time.
… saying yes out of pressure instead of capacity.
… drinking on weekends and losing the only time I had to reset or create.
… carrying constant guilt for never doing “enough.”
… letting everything bleed into everything else because boundaries felt hard.
It wasn’t the hours.
It was living in a way that didn’t fit.

After burnout, I’m not chasing momentum this year.
I’m choosing alignment.
This week reminded me that slowing down isn’t failure… it’s care.
And trusting the timing of my life feels better than rushing ever did.
Anyone else starting the year a little softer?
There’s a weird moment you hit in your thirties where your very safe six-figure job stops feeling like the whole picture anymore.
Not in a dramatic way… just this quiet “huh, there has to be more than this” that sits in the back of your mind.
So you start building in the in-betweens.
Little pockets of time that don’t look like much… like this morning, tapping away at the airport before a work trip, feeling oddly proud of myself for showing up for both chapters.
It’s not glamorous and it’s definitely not fast…
But it’s happening. Slowly, quietly, stubbornly happening.
If you’re in a similar season, I see you🫶

Took a week off to do life.
Not to rest… just to breathe.
Visa: 75% done.
Creativity: returned.
Me: back.
Real talk for anyone bringing support into their business. It matters more than you think.

Lately I’ve realised my best ideas come when I slow down enough to hear them.
I’ve prioritised:
→ silent walks
→ time-blocked mornings
→ no noise when I eat or move
→ white space I don’t negotiate on
The more space I protect, the clearer everything feels… in business and everywhere else.
I guess this is my proof that calm structure really does build creative freedom and honestly, it feels good to finally trust that.
