Light Catcher vessel. Porcelain hand built

What a wonderful day was yesterday…
So lovely to be part of the group exhibition “Here Comes the Sun” at the beautiful Juniper Galleries. The sun was indeed shining, and the atmosphere couldn’t have been more relaxed. 🌞
Both of my pieces found new homes, which was such a joyful bonus!

I’m thrilled to have two ceramic pieces included in the upcoming exhibition at Juniper Galleries. Join us for the opening of “Here Comes The Sun” on October 12th in the beautiful suburb of Darlington. This piece is called ‘Light Catcher Vessel’ and is hand built with porcelain clay, glazed with satin-white.

A little ocean themed vessel for my sis. Looking forward to showing new pieces soon!.

This vase was my first attempt at porcelain. I love how fine I could manipulate the clay into thin ribbons to replicate seaweed moving with the flow of the current underwater. I would like to push this idea further and create forms that echo flower petals.
The outside is left unglazed and the inside is glazed with a high gloss “ocean break”.
