Sadly, this is what it looks like when unsealed grain trucks spill their grain all over the road. Sadly, road trains and and most drivers don’t stop for this when doing 110km/h down the road. Plough straight on through.

This is the ENDANGERED Carnaby Black Cockatoo, it only exists in WA, and numbers are dwindling dramatically. On one stretch of Albany Hwy alone, they are finding on average 120 dead cockatoos a month. And that’s only the ones they find. You do the math. The Carnaby’s cockatoo is considered ‘likely to become extinct’ in the wild.

Grain spillage on our roads continues to extract a terrible toll on endangered Carnaby’s black cockatoos. This same stretch of road, east of Albany, which featured in Black Cockatoo Crisis, remains a killing field for these cockatoos. The Western Australian Government could legislate to end the careless spillage of grain on our roads but continues to do nothing. This video taken in the last few days was sent to us by a concerned local.
