This week across our centres, we’re proud to acknowledge and celebrate National Reconciliation Week, a meaningful time to learn, reflect and strengthen our connection to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and perspectives.

Throughout the week, our children and educators will be engaging in thoughtful learning experiences designed to spark curiosity, deepen understanding and foster respect for the world’s oldest continuing cultures. From storytelling and creative experiences to music & dance, language and shared conversations, we’re excited to create opportunities for meaningful learning and connection together.

We can’t wait to share what’s planned across our centres this week and celebrate these important moments with our community.

Our Toddler Room took a special excursion into the heart of Leederville, sharing Reconciliation Week posters with local businesses and building meaningful connections within our community. We’re proud to help our little learners understand the importance of respect, inclusion, and coming together. 🌈🤝

Our Home Learning Bags are sparking adventure and creativity! We recently sent cameras and nature hunt checklists home with our children and families, inviting everyone to explore the world around them together. Here are some of the wonderful photos our little learners captured—moments of curiosity, discovery, and connection with nature. We love seeing how each child’s unique perspective shines through! Thank you to our families for joining in and making learning a joyful, shared experience. 🌱📸

Creating a Child Safe Centre is at the heart of everything we do at Leederville. Recently, our passionate team came together to explore what a truly Child Safe Environment means to us. We unpacked the 10 key principles, translating them into practical, everyday teaching practices, and reflected on the steps we’re already taking to keep our children safe. To put our learning into action, each team member selected a daily routine, identified potential hazards, and brainstormed proactive strategies to prevent them. This hands-on session sparked meaningful conversations, fresh ideas, and a renewed commitment to safety. Together, we’re continually reflecting, learning, and implementing new ways to ensure every child and family feels safe, supported, and valued at our centre. 💙

Our Kindy children are active participants in their own learning, exploring the world through hands-on projects! After sparking an interest in Australia, our little researchers continued their journey during Harmony Week, landing on Japan as their next adventure. The children have loved creating their own Japanese Zen gardens—a perfect activity for quiet, calm moments in our day. Through mindful play, they discovered the beauty of nature, peace, and reflection. We’re so proud to see their curiosity and creativity shine as they learn about different cultures and express themselves in new ways!

Arts in the atelier! We welcomed one of our wonderful parents to join us for a special creative arts session. Exploring textures together, sharing ideas and expressing themselves through collage and drawing. It was a beautiful opportunity to connect, collaborate, and celebrate creativity as a community. Thank you to our guest parent for inspiring imagination and making art come alive in our atelier!

We’re feeling the love in Leederville! 💐☕ A heartfelt thank you to our friends at Abel Property for making Mother’s Day extra special. Our amazing mums and educators were surprised with complimentary coffee and beautiful flowers this morning. We are so grateful to be part of such a supportive and caring community. Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mums and educators who inspire us every day! 🌸❤️
