Instagram gave me a little nudge recently and reminded me that it had been over 18 days since I last posted anything π Thanks for that! ππ
So here I am, giving the algorithm a nudge back πββοΈ
Truth is, life has been crazzzzzzy busy lately π« But behind the lack of 'gram content is a busy little biz owner packing orders, welcoming new stockists, preparing designs for Christmas, organising a 6 year olds birthday, giving endless cuddles to a 2yr old with RSV, attending post-op knee physio, parent help at school, gymnastics practice, landscaping the garden in between downpours, folding 50 baskets of laundry each night and all the rest that life has to offer right now.
But thank you, Instagram, for the reminder to post more content π
I promise, I've got lots to share soon x

Oh, heyyyyy ππ»
It's been forever since I did an intro post, and with lots of new folk joining my little slice of the 'gram is definitely due!!
I'm Alice πββοΈ Owner and designer behind The Paper Daisy Co, plantable cards and custom stationery πΌ Mumma to two very strong willed little ladies π€ͺπ§πΌπ§πΌ and caretaker to basically an urban farm at this point πΆ πββ¬ πππ
In my spare time (what even is that?!), you'll find me pottering around the garden (still trying to put it all back together after a car crashed through our property a while back π« ) or binge watching the latest Netflix series until the wee hours, when I should be sleeping!
π« Most days: loading up on caffeine then powering through allllllll the jobs. Crashing around 2pm, reloading with sugar and heading off for after school mayhem (sounds healthy, no?)π
π« Current favourites: The Last Kingdom series. A little lemon perfume sample from my friend to remind me of our trip to Sicily last year- it's divine! Chia tea... it's new, I'm going with it π«
π«Weekends: any number of kids birthday parties, late afternoon catch ups with friends, making the most of the winter sun in the garden while our little bantams cluck around at my feet and 2yr old tries to push them around the yard in her pram π€ͺ
This season is not the easiest we've faced, but it's sure full of love and laughter each day β₯οΈ
How are you fairing? What's your favourite thing to do to unwind? Please tell me, I need all the help!! πππΌβ¬οΈ

Wanna know something crazy? This gal πββοΈ spent the first 10yrs of her career in mining and construction. Flying in and out of mine sites and mining towns for yeaaaaaaaars βοΈ
Eventually, I headed back to the city, ready to make some changes in my life- my creative brain couldn't take a back seat any longer! It certainly took me a bit to find my feet on that path, with plenty of road bumps along the way (cue: imposter syndrome, self doubt and all the other fun stuff small biz owners battle! ππ»)
But this recent custom order for plantable bookmarks for celebrations (a construction company, for those playing at home π) was a real "full circle" moment for me. There's even a good chance that deep in their records lives a copy of my CV from a former life. What they do would have had my name written all over it π€
So to have a company from my former world come to me for a product in this new small biz life of mine, that I hustle so hard for, that is essential my heart on a piece of (plantable) paper - is such a *moment* for me β₯οΈ
It's the "girl, keep going", the "you're on the right track", the "this is where you're meant to be" moment all rolled into one.
Whilst they placed their order never knowing the magnitude, I'll be eternally gratefully that they did ππΌ

Stop! Don't plant that card! ππ€
It's too cold, friend!βοΈ
These beauties need a warm, sunny spot to get going and right now the weather is not on our side for planting certain seed types (especially if you're here in W.A!π₯Ά) - these includedπ±
But don't worry! If you've received one recently, or were thinking of gifting one you've still got plenty of time to get them in the ground. We guarantee sprouting within 12 months of receipt, and only use the freshest stock available to ensure you have a little wiggle room should it happen to get lost in the home office π
We know its exciting, but try and hold out until the start of Spring to get your cards going π
