A teacher and a fitter gearing up for our big lap around Australia in our Troopcarrier - July 2021

03/05/2022

Emotional day last week as we closed a big chapter in our lives. The troopy is gone! 😭 After a few tears (mostly Ashlyn’s) we handed her over to her new family.
Travelling and exploring in this girl for the last 6 years has been some of the best times of our lives and we couldn’t have had a better car for the job.
We’ll miss being apart of the troopy community ❤️❤️

Our lap has officially come to an end (bit late on the update). After travelling for just over 6 months we are back home settling back into normal life. We’ve had the most amazing time and feel so lucky to have seen such beautiful places and meet so many wonderful people!
Time to get ready for our next adventure 👨‍👩‍👧

Final Wrap up:
1 flat tyre
2 broken camp chairs
1 speeding ticket
1 pair of busted thongs
1 cracked windscreen
4 border crossings
Total of 28600km

In our opinion, a trip down south just isn’t complete without a trip to canal rocks. Summer or winter this place is amazing 🌊

We found the not so secret swimming spot near Yallingup - the Aquarium ✨
How to find it: there’s a gravel car park between smiths beach turnoff and canal rocks. As always get in early, cars were already parked on the side of the road by 9:00 on a Tuesday 🙈 You’ll find the path on the right, follow until you get to a cleaning and then head left and down onto the beach to paradise 🐠

We’re back on the road!… Sort of
We woke up to a completely flat battery this morning but jump started the troop and didn’t think much of it as we set off to Esperance via wave rock. About an hour in we thought we’d pull over to find our fridge had 💩 itself. We decided to stay a bit closer to home and jump aboard the treat yourself train staying in Yallingup and Dunsborough for a week of relaxing before finally heading home.
Things change on the road but we can’t wait to explore one of our favourite places in Australia!

A snap from our last day in SA last week 💙 our drive from Ceduna to the WA border through the iconic Nullarbor and the Great Aussie Bight.
Bunda cliffs and all the lookouts along the way were really a sight for sore eyes after a whole lot of nothing passing us on the road.

On our way west we stopped off at the Woolshed Cave 🌊
We had planned to camp along the coast on our way to Ceduna but the weather has well and truely turned on us and since we didn’t feel like breaking our awnings anymore we decided to gun it straight to Ceduna and hunker down until we’re ready to cross the Nullarbor and make our way back to WA 🐪🦘

Yesterday Alex had an epic day fulfilling a dream of his - swimming with these big bitey boys! (that were actually super chill) Poor Ash had to stay back on dry land but kept him company 🦈 thanks for a great day out and unforgettable experience.

Currently looking for car seat attachment for the troopy if anyone can hook us up? We’ve managed to pick up an extra camper on the road!
We’ve decided it’s time for us to start making our way back home for this next adventure!

Hello Eyre Peninsula! ☀️
After doubling back to the Barossa to escape the wet weather, we’re back on the coast and keen to explore the best the Eyre has to offer 🥳

We’re back on the road (again)! We had our first taste of covid restrictions when Alex was deemed a close contact on the shutdown so had to spend most of it isolating (still getting paid through!) luckily he’s tested negative and we’ve met up with our mates to continue our way around SA 🥳 tonight we’re at the cutest little farm stay near Tarlee 📍

A pic of the cutest couple I know before the new year ❤️😂 These two are working hard on a shutdown for the next week before we jump back on the road to tackle the Eyre Peninsula! Any must sees/dos for the Eyre?
