My YouTube Journey!
An adventure to say the least

I wanted to find a way to give back.
To share what I’ve learned and help others who are struggling with things from wellness, mindset and movement.

I decided to make a YouTube channel to start. I had no idea what or how. So I went and got a laptop.
I needed a logo so I learned how to make one that day.
I needed to film so I got a GoPro and had to figure out how to use it.
I had to edit so I dug in behind the laptop and learned how to edit.

None of this was something I had any idea about. I just knew that to get across what I wanted, I had to build a foundation and structure that wouldn’t limit the message.

Once it phased me.
The second time it annoyed me.
After that it had no effect.

What if everything you know about health is wrong?
Everyone is competing to be right.
It’s like an imaginary badge of honour.
And it feels good. It really does.
I won!
But what if you’re wrong?
Time is a great teacher.
Many lessons we’ve learned and taught are now incorrect and obsolete.
But that doesn’t matter as long as you convince someone you’re right.
Thats the power move.
Regardless of studies and journals that present clear information, you don’t believe it.
Is it ego?
The acceptance of being wrong is too damaging to the fragility of our perceived image we project.
Now that information is passed on and on through the web of social interactions and influence.
Advice given as gospel but so damaging to the end user.
It’s all about calories. Its’ all about a balanced diet. It’s all about being keto. It’s all about gut health but fill your body with these things that are known to cause issues.
It’s okay though as long as it’s in moderation.

We measure our success by our achievements.
What about the accomplishment of trying?

People tell you to make a goal and smaller goals to achieve it.
There is a reason!

Setting a goal of running a 9 sec 100m, you won’t get it on the first try.
If you do then you’re not thinking big enough!

Training to achieve it means you have made more progress than not doing it at all.
It means that you are dedicating part of your time and life to something.
Making small victories along the way.

Thats important!

Don’t be hung up so much on the negatives.
Look for the positive outcomes.
Mental, physical, spiritual.

You’re body and mind will thank you!

Have you constantly challenged your knowledge?

We get so caught up in wanting to help and promote what we have been taught.

Ego plays a massive part.
I have seen it first hand with “influencers” giving advice on health. I was like that when I first studied in 2004 (yes I’m 34 years young).

It’s okay to continually educate and continually seek the truth.

Surround yourself with a community of educated people who challenge their own ideas and studies so they can deliver the best possible information and protocols. That’s how we constantly evolve.

When was the last time you did something new?

Never stop learning
Never stop playing

“You’re not getting any younger”

Have you been stuck on a timeline?
An expectation to achieve things with a finite timeframe?

There are men who are so impatient that they risk their health to achieve a financial goal.
I know women who find it daunting, chasing a red flag to get a goal in the net ⚽️🥅👶🏻
But we aren’t just talking body clock.

Ever heard someone say “take your time” or “no rush”?
Like “yeah I wasn’t keen on achieving my own goal that I set for myself” 🤦🏻‍♂️

We have our own sense of urgency but that doesn’t make it ideal
Or healthy.

In training we have tempos for concentric, eccentric, isometrics
All the trics. Many trics. Turning trics 😈

The point is, some things can’t be rushed.
Perfection is found in the duration to achieve,
Not in the final achievement.
Achieving a goal while losing other aspects of our life and journey, is not success.

True goals are high and we set them because we can’t achieve them without making it a focus and dedicating parts of our lives to achieving them. If it takes longer, so be it. It’s worth it

You don’t pull a steak off the grill before you sear it.
