PROMOTION | Meet our newest Site Manager, Paul Heffernan

This month we celebrate a well deserved promotion. Since joining Pace in January 2025 as a Supervisor, delivering The Archer project, and then most recently moving over to Fitzroy, Paul is a highly respected member of our construction team.

His extensive construction knowledge, leadership and commitment to developing and mentoring junior team members have made a significant contribution to Pace.

Ever wondered what it's like being a development manager?

The role of the development team is all encompassing. Decisions are made and problems are solved across all disciplines and at every stage of the project lifecycle - from acquisition to handover. It's how obstacles get cleared and projects progress at full speed - true Pace fashion.

What makes it rewarding is seeing all those experts - internal, external, every discipline - come together seamlessly. Their coordination creates the beautiful end product our purchasers move into.

Led by Head of Development Kate Vorozilchak, this team is forward thinking and committed to finding (and creating) value in every relationship and every project.

The small eclectic pocket of Prahran and Windsor along south Chapel Street is where colour meets heritage. Vintage bookshops, artisan cafes, and century-old Victorian facades create a vibrant streetscape.

PAST PACE | The Icon

With its bold stacked forms and unmissable colour, The Icon earned the nickname "the Lego building" almost instantly. And it stuck. Bright, playful, impossible to ignore – it was never meant to blend in. Eleven years on, it's still turning heads and sparking conversation at the St Kilda junction.

What we loved about this project: it proved that daring design can become deeply loved. The Icon didn't just get built – it became part of how people see St Kilda. That's what design-led development should do.

Today marks R U OK? Day. At Pace, we celebrate supporting each other—checking in, starting conversations, and showing up when it matters.
