Say hello to my little friend, the jewel orchid 🌺.
It's up there on my list of favorite plants, and for good reason - it's adaptable and thrives in many environments 🌿. Here, I've placed the jewel orchid on water-soaked driftwood, creating a natural setting where moss, orchids, and ferns live and prosper together 🍃. And the cherry on top? The orchid is blossoming just in time for Christmas, adding a vibrant splash of red to the holiday season 🎄.

Reflecting on this tank's journey 🗺️ - it was exactly 2 years ago today, when this experiment became my blueprint for later designs 📐. A self-sustaining ecosystem that thrives with minimal interference, embodying nature's resilience through its organic materials 🌱.
From the driftwood structure 🪵 to the moss substrate and pumice rockbed, each element plays its part. With sparse Easy Grow fertilizing and top-ups replacing water changes, it's the ecosystem's own bacteria, tannings, keeping things blooming 🌼. The true star, though? The lush, compact growth of aquatic plants 🌿, thriving outside their usual wet environment 💦.
What a joy it's been, nurturing this little slice of nature. Here's to its evolution in the years ahead 🎉. 🌱💧🌿
