The embodiment of gleeful chaos energy in the shape of a deranged bunny, cavorted on stage and into our hearts, mostly through our chest cavities. Razored catchy beats wrapped in cotton candy and delivered through a blood drenched grin, there’s something deeply endearing and mesmerising about MyxiBun’s bubble scattered set that bounces between the unhinged and the authentically vulnerable with an innocent deftness that is the core of the magic at play.

Joined on stage by Infernal Desire Machine in two halves, Eve X scourging their own flesh with skin and tools and Sai Lillith slinging jute onto Troy from Cheap Coffins; riding the mad bull and whipping ropes around them to cast their own containment.

Amidst the raging sound and fury a raw vulnerability, an opening of wounds within and without; a parting that breaks the skin of the world.

took the stage with a new setup and a wildly overdriven sound, roaring through and shaking the underbelly of our vessels and venue... In this divine distortion all was made anew, strange artifacts unearthed and brought into screaming focus; a tortured vision of a deep underworld. Even through the audio glitches, the raw power of Troy’s invocations reverberate above and below, calling up the abyss.

The Soft Machine Productions & Flesh Rituals & Siren Songs was born to create an un/holy union of underground artists from the music & performing arts scenes across electronica, industrial, gothic, alternative & metal, BD5M, burlesque, aerials, flow arts, the taboo & the er0tic.

It’s also an esoteric container - it’s my belief that there is true magic in creative arts, in s.xuality & the er0t1c arts & the ineffable effects these creations can have in the world. As both audience and artists, when we choose to put our energy & belief into a thing, that things becomes a talisman, a focus of power and intention.

Our rituals are a form of rebellion, of unashamed joy, defiance & power. The event is a living, breathing talisman, a vessel that while ephemeral, holds us & is carried with us.

I don’t believe in the way censorship plays out in our society; I disagree passionately with the idea that the shadows are inherently harmful, that s.xuality should be hidden & a source of shame. I believe in nuance, in complexity & the realness of the human experience in all it’s varied beauty & ugliness. I believe that education, not censorship is the way to make a better world, & having the bravery & heart to have the hard conversations with others, including those we love and care for.

Memories of S.x Ropes & Rock’n’Roll #2… the time we first hijacked and turned it into our den of chaotic iniquity…. The first sweet gathering of our Sydney art fam, and a bittersweet moment to chronicle that Enryka is on hiatus - but they have an AMAZING new album to carry you through the void.

This was also birthday gig, where they learnt the lessons of never trusting unlabelled containers. 🤷‍♀️
