Just a reminder, although the OH&S Act (2004) does not explicitly mention the need to test and tag portable appliances in the workplace, it does outline that ALL EMPLOYERS have a legal obligation to take all reasonable steps to provide their employees with a safe working environment that is free from health risks (Section 21).
With this in mind, I think electrical compliance testing will become legislation in the coming years.
