A bit late with the wrap-up from Palmyra Drag Racing Club Inc Championship Round 1, as we've been busy preparing for the Winternationals.

Following our January outing at Willowbank, we had the shocks serviced, so we were effectively starting fresh with the tune-up.

It took a couple of runs to get our feet under us, but we finished qualifying with a strong 6.98-second pass at 197.93 mph in the final session.

We then worked our way through three solid rounds of racing to meet Dean Zammit in the final.

Dean was razor-sharp on the tree with a .003 reaction time to my .011. After dialling back following a slower run in the previous round, he pushed me into a breakout and brought an end to our streak of 20 consecutive race wins at Palmyra.

Congratulations to Dean on the win and thanks to everyone involved in another great weekend of racing.

Now it's onward to the Gulf Western Oil Winternationals 2026, with racing kicking off tomorrow morning.

Galliani Racing is set to launch our merch range in 2026.

Before everything is locked in, we’re looking to finalise a select group of sponsors to be featured not only on the car, but across the merch lineup.

Yesterday was a real struggle in the heat.

Q1: Blazed the tyres right at the hit and we rolled through.
Q2: Made some changes, it got out off the start then spun and we pedalled it to a 7.401 at 195 mph.
Q3: Scheduled around 8:30pm between the Pro sessions once the track cooled. We loaded the tune-up from the 6.98 pass the day before and the car squirmed its way to a 7.07 at 195.70 mph.

Those results have us sitting second in qualifying, with Q4 scheduled for 2:15pm.
Don’t be surprised if you don’t see us on the coverage — there’s very little to gain from the session.
