Lethbridge Equestrian Centre

G'day everyone. For those who are unaware, my name is Sarah and I'm taking care of Seetal and Angela's beautiful arena while they are on holiday. I am still getting the hang of everything so if anyone has any comments or troubles at all please don't hesitate to send message and let me know.
As well as introduce myself I thought I would add that sometimes notifications don't come up on my phone unless you send a message as well. Please keep this in mind when making a booking.
Happy riding
A wonderful weekend at the fantastic Lethbridge Equestrian Centre and you could not meet a nicer couple - Angela and Seetal. Thank you. xo
What a great story on ABC Landline the arena looked fantastic good on you Seetal and Angela .
His how do you book arena hire? I am hoping to book a lesson and have lesson at your facility either weekly or fortnightly. Trying to if I can get a few people same night. Would be looking at either Tues or Weds nights after work. Wednesday looks to be the best night for a couple of people. Looking at around 6pm til 9pm. If possible
Just wondering if someone could tell me how many stables/yards you have (& post some photos), and also inbox me with the costs to hire the indoor arena, stables etc... Thanks

Lethbridge Equestrian Centre is near Geelong. Facilities include a new 30 x 60 metre INDOOR ARENA, roundyard, stable facilities and ample parking.

Freshman’s Day Sunday 10th of April 2022
Starting 8:30 am

As people may be aware I've had a nasty injury from a fall, a fractured humerus requiring surgery, and am less able to do some things until I recover. I am very grateful to my neighbours for their support at this time.
1/. Our Freshman’s Jumping Day, Sunday 10th April, will proceed as scheduled! We hope to see all our show-jumpers next Sunday 😊.
2/. I can only use one arm, so I can't push the wheel-barrow full of horse poo. Please pick up your own horse's poo.
3/. If you use equipment please pack it away neatly afterwards.
4/. I've decided to sell my 2 warmblood mares by Valhalla. I intended to breed with them but now think I should stop riding youngsters. They are 9 and 10 years old, 17hh, with papers, broken in but not ridden for years. Video of one of them below. $4,500 and $4,000. If anyone is interested let me know.

Freshman’s Day Sunday 13th of March 2022
Starting 8:30 am

We charge $20 per hour to ride at Lethbridge Equestrian Centre, but on rare occasions the bookings and the money collected don't match. Angela Patricia Castro Paez, who is an accountant by training, then starts going through her paperwork and usually finds an innocent explanation.

I've just found another explanation for some missing cash. This $20 note was in the creek bed and probably blew out of the cafe on a windy day!

Due to a late cancellation 1 more lesson spots available (8am) with Holly Cutler Thursday the 2nd [email protected] Lethbridge Indoor
Holly caters to all levels and is amazingly supportive EA qualified coach and an FEI rider.
Please contact Nicole Wilks for details or to book your spot 0419515929

Some people are asking what COVID settings apply for the Freshman’s Day tomorrow. The patron cap last October no longer applies. The new rules include density limits and limits on total numbers that in a large indoor arena and outdoor area are nearly impossible for us to exceed. Basically, we no longer need to worry about numbers. Face masks are recommended but not required outdoors or while on a horse. I will wear a face mask when on the gate. Please scan our QR code.
The tricky one is vaccine status. Vaccines are not required for community sport but are required for recreation. It is not clear how this applies to us however EA club events elsewhere have not been checking vaccination status.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. So that riders can plan their day avoid long waiting times until their preferred height, we have decided to introduce starting times for our 14th November Freshman’s day as follows:
30cm begins at 8:15am
45cm begins at 10am
60cm begins at 11:30am
75cm begins at 1:00pm
≥90cm begins at 2:30pm
We will raise the jumps to any height you request after the 90cm rounds.
If you are waiting to jump a preferred height we will not increase the heights until after you have jumped, so if we have many people waiting to jump the times may be later than indicated above. However, we won't start heights earlier than indicated above.

Our next Freshman's jumping day is Sunday 10th October. There are limits of 10 patrons in the arena and 20 patrons on the property. In order to comply with these restrictions we would like riders to nominate for an early or late group, with a change over of groups between 11:30-12:00am. The early group will have jumps set at 30cm, 45cm and 60cm. They can arrive as early as they like with the first rider commencing at 9am or earlier if you are ready. The after 12am group will jump 45cm, 60cm, 75cm, 90cm and higher. If you don't want to jump 30cm please consider attending in the later group as we prefer both groups to be a similar number of riders. Please let me know what is your preferred group, before 11:30am or after 12am? Also, please, no spectators and only one parent accompanying children (unless parents are also riding). We are looking forward to another great day on Sunday 10th October, and complying with the rules. Feel free to ask if you have any questions/suggestions?

"Patron caps in regional venues will increase from 20 to 30" when first vaccination rates are 80%. This is great news for our Freshman’s jumping day!

Great news! For 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮, excluding the 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁, indoor physical recreation facilities are now open with 10 people indoor and 20 outdoor per venue. Therefore, Indoor arenas may now be opened for physical recreation only. We can reopen from 11:59pm Friday.

Lethbridge Equestrian Centre must remain CLOSED under the revised restrictions. 😢

The current lockdown restrictions for regional Victoria are changing at midnight this Thursday. We have contacted Equestrian Victoria to check if we are able to reopen and they replied "Please keep an eye on our website or page - we will post detail as soon as we can." So ... our scheduled Freshman's Jumping day this Sunday is still in there with a chance!

Thank-you everyone who came to our Freshman's Jumping day today. After so much cancelling and rescheduling it was great that we finally managed to have a successful event. Thanks for supporting our local family business and we hope to see everyone again at the next Freshman's Jumping day. 🙂

Hi everyone, We’re looking forward to seeing lots of riders coming tomorrow (Sunday) for our Freshman’s jumping day. Please park considerately. The event parking area will be open so please use it but stay up the top where the ground is hard. Please don’t try to park near the creek! 😊

We can reopen tomorrow!
This means that our Freshman's Jumping day will now proceed on Sunday 15th August.
See you soon.

We're back in lockdown. Lethbridge Equestrian Centre will be closed from 8pm tonight until restrictions ease. Our Freshman’s Jumping day will need to be rescheduled yet again.

Details about current restrictions courtesy of Equestrian Victoria. Density limits are irrelevant to us as the indoor arena is 1800 m2. The best news is that this level of restrictions is not a problem for our Freshman’s jumping day that is now re-scheduled to Sunday 8th August.

The Premier, Daniel Andrews, has this morning announced that Victoria will come out of Lockdown from 11:59pm tonight, Tuesday 27 July. The 5 reasons to leave home have been removed, however some restrictions remain in place.

The good news for equestrians is that Community Sport (inc. competitions), for both adults and children, can re-commence (from 11:59pm tonight). 👏🏻 Please ensure density requirements and distancing measures are followed at all times.

👏🏻 Indoor arenas may also open with density requirements of 1 person per 4sqm.

Large gatherings and events with crowds are still not permitted and we will have further information once the 'Restricted Activity Directions' document has been released by the government.

The main restrictions that remain in place are:

⦿ Masks will continue to be required everywhere indoors and outdoors (except private residences), unless an exception applies.
⦿ Visitors are not permitted to your home.
⦿ The Authorised Worker List will no longer apply, meaning businesses (including Coaches 👏🏻) and venues can reopen with capacity and density limits of 1 person per 4sqm. Victoria will return to the rule that ‘if you can work from home, you should work from home’ but office workers will be able to return up to 25 per cent or up to 10 people, whichever is greater.

We will keep you updated when further advice becomes available.

CEO Equestrian Victoria

In compliance with the latest lockdown announcement Lethbridge Equestrian Centre will be closed at least until next Wednesday. This means that our Freshman's event this Sunday cannot proceed and we are rescheduling this event to Sunday 8th August.

We will be reopening on Friday!
It was just announced today that from midnight Thursday indoor sports can reopen in regional Victoria, with limitations of groups of no more than 10 people indoors at the same time.🙂🐴

Hi Everyone, You may have seen that lockdown rules will are being eased for regional Victoria from Thursday midnight, however, under the new restrictions Indoor physical recreation & sport must still remain closed. This means that Lethbridge Equestrian Centre will not be able to reopen this Friday.

In compliance with the 7 day lockdown rules Lethbridge Equestrian Centre will be closed from midnight tonight until midnight next Thursday (June 3rd). All paid bookings over this period will of course be refunded. Stay safe everyone. 🙂🐴

Photos from Lethbridge Equestrian Centre's post 15/04/2021

We had this lovely visitor at Lethbridge Equestrian Centre this morning. Wonderful company while feeding the horses. In the photo of his tree you can see the corner of the indoor arena as a guide to where he is.

In compliance with the announcement of a 5 day hard lockdown that requires indoor physical recreation and sport to close from midnight tonight to midnight Wednesday, Lethbridge Equestrian Centre will be closed during this lockdown period. Further information is available athttps://www.premier.vic.gov.au/sites/default/files/2021-02/210212%20-%20Table%20of%20restrictions.pdf

Riders have been asking about future Freshman's days and competitions at Lethbridge Equestrian Centre, so I'd like to explain what we are doing. In short, there will be future Freshman's days and competitions (events), but not until July 2021 at the earliest. LEC is currently fully open as usual and insured for venue hire. However, to run events we need extra insurance. We run events as LEC Club, affiliated with Equestrian Victoria and insured through Equestrian Australia. This costs us about $1400 in affiliation fees and extra insurance per year. Last July we did not re-affiliate due to the lockdown. Our last competition had to be cancelled due to restrictions. Further restrictions or another lockdown are a possibility. Consequently, we have decided not to re-affiliate with EV this financial year. EV are aware of this decision and are happy for us to re-affiliate next financial year. In the meantime, if any clubs wish to host events at LEC under their club insurance they are most welcome to enquire.

If you are considering attending the Russell Johnstone showjumping clinic this Sunday, 22nd November, please confirm your booking ASAP. I'd like to close the bookings and let riders know their times tomorrow (Thursday). At this stage we only have three full groups and I'd like to have a 4th group. This means that there is also time for private lessons ($160/hr) with Russell for people who prefer a private lesson. I hope to hear fro. more riders ASAP!

We are now officially open again! 🥂When making a booking please list the names and a contact phone for everyone attending. The limit is 10 people in the arena and 20 on the property at the same time. Please wear facemasks in the car park, but they are not required while riding or for coaches. We look forward to seeing everyone soon.

We have spoken with Russell Johnstone and he will be providing us with dates for his next clinic. We will announce the dates soon.

We will also run a Freshman's day as soon as we have re-affiliated the club with EV and set the club insurance in place. The Freshman's day will require riders to book in advance so that we don't exceed permitted numbers. Again, there will be more announcements soon.

It will be wonderful to have riders back at Lethbridge Equestrian Centre. We have missed everyone! 🙂
