🇵🇬 Why is there a bird-of-paradise on Papua New Guinea’s flag?

💛 Because nothing says freedom, beauty, and identity quite like this bird.

The Raggiana bird-of-paradise (Kumul) is represents the soul of the land, the pride of the people, and the independent spirit of Papua New Guinea.

🇵🇬 Designed in 1971 by a 15-year-old student (?!), the flag has since become a symbol of strength and unity for the nation.

Its the perfect occasion that calls for the Two+Fro Signature Kumul earrings 🤎💛

Thank you Perth wantoks for visiting us at our stall yesterday! We survived the wind, rain lovely weather mother nature threw at us. Some of the passersby stopped to help us hang on to the pagola while the gusts showed us their best. Think hectic is an under statement 😅
