WILDFLOWER RIDGE WALK
Harvey, WA
1.5hrs south of Perth
1.4km, Grade 3
No dogs

This short walk is an absolute delight at this time of year. Where ever you look there are splashes of colour in pretty much every shade of the rainbow.

Pink and orange coral pea vines are draped over grass trees, carpets of purple tassel and white milk maids bob their heads in the breeze and if you look carefully there are heaps of dainty spider and donkey orchids.

There are carpets of white flowers (that I don't know the name of) just finishing, but the white pimelea and pink and white myrtle are just coming out.

The spider orchids are coming to the end of their time, but the enamels are still in bud.

This spot will be a treat for a few more weeks yet.

And with the Harvey Dam 90% full the views to the east are stunning. From the west side of the trail you can see for miles over rolling green pastures and all the way to the coast.

Picnic tables are provided, but no toilets.

Just a note on toilets - It is highly likely that you may need to 'go' while you are there. Please go prepared with some proper toilet paper, NOT TISSUES OR BABY WIPES and a plastic bag to put your used paper in, so you can dispose of it responsibly when you have access to a bin. The toilet paper was disgusting when I was there today.

The trail car park can be tricky to find but if you download the map from here it will make it easier. https://trailswa.com.au/trails/wildflower-walk-harvey
