This was our day hanging out with the Orcas in Bremer Bay. My photos are pretty average compared to the professional ones taken by the Marine Biologists on the boat. Each whale is identified by its individual characteristics of dorsal fin, markings and family groups. Absolutely amazing day, so very blessed.

Landcare in Action – Mount Pleasant
With grant support from Landcare Australia, the Upper River Torrens Landcare Group and Environmental Connections, 20 volunteers helped Suzie & Sam plant 450 native tubestock on their farm to boost biodiversity and support woodland bird habitat.
Despite rocky ground and dry conditions, the team pushed through—protecting new plants from kangaroos and preserving vital old trees with nesting hollows.

Recently, at VinPac International’s Angaston bottling site, the Environmental Connections crew planted sedges and rushes to help reduce runoff, filter water, and provide essential habitat for native insect and bird species.
This is part of VinPac’s broader commitment to enhancing biodiversity across all operational sites.

Last week, we worked with the Year 5/6 students at Paracombe Primary School to plant out their bush tucker garden with local native plants to enhance their school grounds, increase habitat for birds, insects and other invertebrates, and use the produce in their cooking classes.
The students loved the opportunity to get their hands dirty and were very engaged in careful planting to ensure each plant will grow successfully.
Planting Bush Tucker, Paracombe Primary School — Environmental Connections The Year 5/6 students at Paracombe Primary School were excited to plant out their bush tucker garden with local, suitable plants.
