Mandy has been in the Optical industry for over 25 years and boy does she have some amazing stories to tell!
Mandy has established herself as a unique designer eyewear specialist in Highton, Geelong and is the owner of Eye Gallery. Her commitment is to provide fashionable and luxury eyewear such as Chloe, Tom Ford, Sass & Bide, Givenchy, Gucci and much more. “My aim is to help our clients achieve their own individual style with designer eyewear,” she says.
The Eye Gallery is a boutique optical practice in the lovely Highton Village which provides comprehensive eye testing, designer glasses, sunglasses and contact lenses. Her attention to detail, design and style led her to open her own practice to do things ‘her way’. She wanted the boutique style business to help clients feel at home and cared for in a comfortable, French styled environment and to feel part of a ‘family’.
The business has grown from 1 person to 10 people over 13 years with a second store recently opening in Armstrong Creek 👏

On Saturday 10 April, we’re celebrating Slow Art Day, a day to observe, critique, enjoy and contemplate art. Join us as we take you on a tour of key works included in ‘Scenic Victoria—Land, sea, city’, like Louis Buvelot’s ‘On the Woods Point Road’ 1872.
This tour will encourage you to take in the works slowly, before being invited to a facilitated discussion. What’s even better is that the tour is free, and no bookings are required. We hope to see you there!
Tours are available between 11.00am to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 4.00pm with 30 minute tours departing on the hour.

Raised in Wollongong, he started climbing full-time as a teenager. Since then, he has gained pioneering solo records in climbing the south side of Mount Everest and traversing the Kedarnarth Peaks, and has travelled alone to the South and North Poles without huskies or mechanised vehicles.
In 2001, Muir and his dog Seraphine began a journey from Port Augusta in South Australia to Burketown on the Queensland North coast. It was his fourth attempt, and Seraphine’s second. Dragging a sled, taking 128 days on foot and covering 2500 kilometres, upon reaching Burketown Muir became the first person to complete a solo and unassisted walk across the Australian continent.
Within a few days of starvation when he arrived, he recorded the events and experiences of the walk—including the death of Seraphine—on his video camera diary. This footage was made into the documentary ‘Alone Across Australia’ (2003), directed by Muir and Ian Darling.
