NOW is the time to prep this.
It's an immune tonic that’s been used for decades to naturally protect against cold and flu and ease sinus congestion. It's also a potent metabolic stimulant for all of you stuck inside!

It's actually known as an OXYMEL. Which is derived from the Greek word oxymeli, which translates to 'acid and honey'.

INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup freshly grated ginger root
1/2 cup freshly grated horseradish root
1/2 medium brown onion, chopped
1/2 medium red onion
10 cloves of garlic, crushed
1 big sprig of thyme
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 lemon or orange: the zest and juice (use a mortar and pestle if possible)
1/5 tsp Himalayan sea salt
2 jalapeno or serrano chilis chopped semi-fine (remove the seeds)
20ml Turmeric or 2 tbps of freshly grated turmeric root
Dash of freshly squeezed apple juice
Raw organic apple cider vinegar
Raw honey to taste

⭐️ Optional: Mustard seeds, dried parsley, oregano, rosemary, juniper berries, cinnamon and bay leaves. NO rules on quantities. Get creative!

INSTRUCTIONS
Prepare your juice, roots and herbs and place them in a large glass jar with an airtight lid. (Nb. if your lid is metal, use some parchment paper).
Now fill the jar with the ACV to the top, and shake to mix.
Store in a dark, cool place for a full month, remembering to gently shake a little daily.
After this month, use a cheesecloth (from health food store or online) to strain out ALL the juice from the pulp, into a bowl. Enjoy the smell!
Next, add in your honey.
A 1:1 ratio will preserve out of the fridge for a year. BUT, if you plan to use it in the next couple of months then 1/4 of that is ok. Mix very well with a whisk or vitamix until dissolved.

DOSAGE: It is recommended as daily health tonic 5ml - 15ml, 1-3 times per day, BUT:

You can also:
Dilute the fire tonic with warm water or grapefruit juice.
Use as a salad dressing.
Use as a marinade.
Add to soups.
Use as a pick me up or hangover cure!
The flavour? A balance of spicy, sour, sweet and sharp.
