From 6pm tonight, there are new rules for household and close contacts.

If you are a household or close contact and don’t have any symptoms, you do not need to self-isolate, but you must follow the Household and Close Contact Guidelines for 7 days from the last time someone in your household tested positive for COVID-19, or as otherwise directed by NSW Health:

• If you develop symptoms, you must self-isolate and get tested for COVID-19. If your test result is positive, you must isolate and follow the testing positive to COVID-19 advice. If your test result is negative, stay home until you do not have any symptoms.
• Do not visit high-risk settings (healthcare, aged care, disability care or correctional facilities) unless you require care yourself, or you have permission from the facility to visit for exceptional circumstances (e.g. end of life visits).
• Wear a mask when you are in an indoor setting that is not your own home, including workplaces and tertiary education. Schools may have their own guidance for students which should be followed.
• Work or study from home where possible. You must seek approval from your employer or education facility before returning to your workplace or school.
• Masks are also encouraged in your home to reduce the risk of transmission within your household.
• Avoid contact with people at higher risk of severe illness where possible.
• Avoid large or crowded indoor gatherings where you will be in contact with groups of people that you don’t live with, where possible.
• Consider taking a rapid antigen test if you do need to attend an indoor gathering, including your workplace or school, even if you do not have symptoms.

Our success as a company is founded upon the relationship we have with the people of the Illawarra and South Coast.

This connection was recognised over the weekend through CB’s inclusion in a special Illawarra Mercury feature celebrating businesses which have been part of the region for decades.

We’re proud of the contribution we make to building our communities.

Congratulations John.

Today we celebrate a rare milestone as one of our valued Transport team members, John Tate, marks the start of his 50th year with Cleary Bros.

On 18 October 1971, John turned up for his first shift driving a company water cart around a new subdivision we were building at Bellambi. Exactly five decades later, you’ll find John behind the wheel of a CB tipper, moving our quarry products around our region and beyond.

All at CB congratulate John on this ‘golden’ achievement. Thank you for the many long days, the millions of kilometres and your outstanding contribution to our family.

For those in the WIN Television viewing area, you can hear more of John’s story on tonight’s (18 Oct) WIN Local News from 5.30pm.

One new case in Narooma, linked to the Batemans Bay cluster

Southern NSW Local Health District has been notified of 8 new COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8.00pm last night.

This brings the total cases in SNSWLHD to 62 since the start of the current outbreak in June.

Of the 8 new cases:

- One new case is in Narooma and is linked to the Batemans Bay cluster.
- Two new cases are in Jerrabomberra and are close contacts of existing cases.
- Four new cases are in Batemans Bay and are linked to the Batemans Bay cluster.
- One new case is in Goulburn and is under investigation.

We are also urging the Eden community to get tested with even the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms following the detection of fragments of the virus in the local sewage system in the last 48 hours.

There are no confirmed COVID-19 cases at Eden. SNSWLHD is concerned that the presence of these fragments could signal undetected cases in the community.

Our website is kept updated with all confirmed venues of concern. There are no NSW venues of concern related to recent Jerrabomberra cases at this stage. Venues listed here: https://www.snswlhd.health.nsw.gov.au/our-services/infectious-disease/covid-19-venues-of-concern

Southern NSW Local Health District has been notified of two new COVID-19 cases: one in Batemans Bay and one in Cooma.

The new Batemans Bay case is a close contact of the first case announced on 6 September 2021. The source of the Cooma case is still under investigation.

Anyone who was a customer at one of the venues of concern, during the times listed below, is considered to be a casual contact and should get tested and isolate immediately. Staff from each venue will be assessed by Public Health to determine if they are close or casual contacts.
