Happy Budget day! I’m with the Treasurer and Attorney General getting ready for the Crisafulli Government’s second Budget.
Our first Budget was about laying the foundations. Today’s Budget is about strengthening them and delivering for Queenslanders.
Stay tuned for more throughout the day. Queenslanders can be confident this Budget is delivering a fresh start for Queensland.

Queenslanders asked, and we’ve listened.
Our rural and regional Queenslanders should have access to healthcare that doesn’t break the bank.
That’s why this year’s Budget will deliver a 32% increase to the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme to help ease the rising cost of fuel.
It’s all part of our plan to deliver easier access to health services, no matter where you live.

So Brave is a wonderful organisation, based in my electorate of Clayfield, dedicated to supporting and educating young women with Breast Cancer.
Their why? Because you’re never too young for breast cancer.
So Brave is the only breast cancer organisation in Australia who provide education and support for those diagnosed 40 and under.
Thank you to the team for your impact and advocacy as you support young women through some of their most challenging moments.
Remembering the 60 Queensland firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice.
This new Memorial Wall stands as a lasting tribute to their courage and service, and honours the families whose strength and resilience keep their legacy alive.

We said we would ensure there was long-term cost of living relief Queenslanders could rely on - and that’s exactly what our Budget will deliver next week.
There will be no new or increased taxes for Queenslanders for the second year in a row – avoiding the easy way out taken by other governments that chose to increase taxes and reduce services.
Cost-of-living measures include a reduction in energy costs delivered through our Energy Roadmap. Our Back to School Boost, Play On! Sports Vouchers and Permanent 50 Cent Fares are all locked in just like we promised.
We are playing our part with structured cost of living relief Queenslanders can rely on when they’re doing it tough in the middle of a national affordability crisis.
Canberra’s budget hit your hip-pocket.
We’re keeping our word - no new or increased taxes.
You can see the future of healthcare in Logan taking shape.
As the scaffolding comes down on the new Clinical Services Building at Logan Hospital, another major milestone has been reached, through the Crisafulli Government’s Hospital Rescue Plan, as we deliver easier access to health services for one of Queensland’s fastest-growing communities.
The new Building 4 will transform care for local families with:
👉🏽112 additional beds
👉🏽new operating theatres
👉🏽cardiac catheterisation laboratories
endoscopy suites
👉🏽expanded pharmacy services
👉🏽a new main entry to the hospital.
This is what delivering looks like. More capacity. More frontline services. Easier access to health services closer to home.
After a decade of decline under Labor and years of pressure on Logan’s health services, the Crisafulli Government is getting on with the job of building a health system that keeps up with growing communities.

This week is Men’s Health Week - a reminder to make time for your own health, whether that’s booking a routine check-up, getting some exercise, or checking in with a mate.
I’d also like to acknowledge the many men across Queensland Health who care for others every day.
Recently, Resident Medical Officer Dr Matt and Health Security Officer Shane worked together to support a distressed elderly patient at Townsville University Hospital.
When the patient became increasingly agitated, Shane took a different approach. He sat beside them, listened, offered reassurance and simply took the time to connect.
Dr Matt said the compassion and patience Shane showed had a remarkable impact.
“Over the years, I’ve cared for many patients experiencing distress, but I’ve rarely seen someone de-escalate a situation with such tenderness and kindness,” he said.
Together, their actions helped the patient feel safe, accept the care they needed and settle comfortably for the night.
This story is a reminder that healthcare is about more than treatment, it’s about human connection, empathy and taking the time to care.
This Men’s Health Week, we celebrate the men across Queensland Health who support patients, colleagues and communities every day, while also encouraging men to look after their own health and wellbeing.
There’s no better time to check in on the men in your life.
