Hello! We are from Ukraine 🇺🇦
As many of you know, my family is from Ukraine, we arrived 4 years ago to Australia to start new life - me, my husband, our 1,5 years son and 40 kilos of belongings in two suitcases.
Since 2014 we understood that toxic relationship between Ukraine and Russia will cause war in Ukraine sooner or later and for the for safety of our kid we made a decision to leave everything we had and to go as far from Russia as we can.
We made it to Australia, we started everything from the scratch, we fall in love with this country but still Ukraine (and Odessa in particular) is very deep in our hearts. I was dreaming to bring kids to Odessa and spend there summer.
In February 2022 Russia invaded Ukraine. Crazy, violent and manic war is going on and thousands of civilians died. My country is ruined by crazy old dictator with imperialistic complexes, my people are dying and my heart is falling apart 💔
I dream about peace in my country, I will bring kids there to spend summer with family as soon as war ends, I will do everything I can to support my beloved country and strong Ukrainian people fighting for freedom.

It’s been 35 days of war in Ukraine and at some point it was almost impossible to smile and keep doing usual things - all we could do is scroll newsfeed and message friends and family members: “how are you?” hoping to hear back: “we are alive” New reality for Ukraine and Ukrainian people. There is no more “I’m good”, we all feel like schrödinger's cats 📦

Did you know that Tiwi Design is one of the oldest and most artistically diverse art centres in Australia?
The art centre produces ochre paintings on canvas and bark, ironwood carvings, screen printed fabrics, ceramics, bronze
and glass sculptures as well as limited edition prints. Tiwi Design has been printing textiles since the early 1980's. The purpose built textile printing workshop is run by Osmond Kantilla, a master printer with over 20 years practical experience of printing textiles at Tiwi Design along with his assistant Alan Kerinauia.

Osmond supervises the translation of original artworks onto screens and manages the production of the hand printed fabrics. Osmond has designed screens himself and enjoys the artistic process of mixing colours and matching them to fabrics and designs.

Tiwi Design currently has three 13 metre long tables which are used to hand silkscreen print the textiles, and a commercial oven in which to cook the fabric and set the water based inks.

Tiwi Design produces approximately 500 metres of fabric a week during the dry season and gives daily demonstrations of the screen printing process to visiting tourists!

My dear friend and Ossom client @squinkyprints is fundraising money to help Ukrainian kids.
Hi friends. Like many of you, I am devastated by the shocking images of the invasion of Ukraine, and at a loss for what I can do. I want to try to help the children affected by this war so I have printed up a bunch of these original design Plover Lover tees. From now until the end of next week, Sunday 13th March (or until I run out of shirts), 100% of the total sale will go directly to charity. The two charities I have chosen are:

1. Voices of Children. This charity provides psychological and psychosocial support to children affected by the trauma of war through art therapy and mobile psychologists.

2. International Red Cross - Ukraine Appeal, which is helping affected people access clean water and living conditions.
