Let me tell you a story about the birds 🦜 and the bees 🐝➡️📷. Tis Spring after all.

Having worked alongside for 15 months, I’m in danger of becoming a twitcher. 😅 The birds in WA are so different. I am loving capturing and identifying them. More so, I love watching their behaviours, even if the galahs are angered by my presence.

As for the bees, I’m loving testing the new Canon 100mm Macro, photographing the different wildflowers and their buzzing companions.

When you arrive into the small town of Hyden in WA and the locals don’t want you there.

Sometimes life grants you a gift, but I never expected a daylight sighting of a glider to be one of them. It helps to have an outdoor office with Queensland Trust for Nature and the very focus of discovering these furry friends. But luck - when the stars align and you happen to be in the right place at the right time - I can't discount that. I've had so so many lucky experiences with wildlife that I'm starting to believe I am a magnet 🧲 There’s so much to be said about luck though, you’ve got to create these opportunities and it starts with getting out in nature.

Busy is good! A year ago, I could have only dreamed of being this busy - doing work that I love. Establishing a business, transitioning to a company and working with amazing businesses that get me out in nature. And sometimes, like this shot, I can take opportunities on the commute to mix a little business with some me time.

It’s easy in any transition and/or change to get overwhelmed. There’s been self doubt, revelations and growth. Some days, you feel on top of the world and some days you want to rock back and forth in the corner.

My choice to get help last year - first with and then continuing with and - was just the kick up the ass that I needed to make my dream an actuality. Looking back at the whole experience, the fear of investing in myself and gaining support from the best community ‘sports bra’ I could have hoped for, it’s crazy to think I ever hesitated in getting the help I so desperately sought.
