A man is flying in a hot air balloon and realizes he is lost. He lowers his height and spots a man down below. He lowers the balloon further and shouts, "Excuse me, can you tell me where I am?"
The man below says, "Yes, you're in a hot air balloon, hovering 30 feet above this field."
"You must work in IT," says the balloonist.
"I do," replies the man. "How did you know?"
"Well," says the balloonist, "everything you have told me is technically correct, but it's no use to anyone."
The man below says, "You must work in business."

Check your email account security
Email accounts are a common target for cybercriminals. If cybercriminals gain access to your email account they can steal your sensitive information, commit fraud or send emails pretending to be you.
Proactively reviewing your email account’s security will help you to prevent its compromise and increase your chances of regaining control if it becomes compromised.

Tech Tip Tuesday
The rise in unmanaged network-connected devices increases the attack surface of the enterprise and allows cybercriminals to capitalise on the weakest link - the user endpoint - to gain a foothold into the network.
If compromised devices on the network go undetected, they can be used as launch pads to target higher-value assets, gain access to sensitive information, and cause significant business impact.
What is the answer to protecting against unmanaged endpoints?
Ultimately the challenge is to bring a level of visibility and control to unmanaged devices, and safely enable their use.
To achieve this, a process is needed to find devices that are not secured, appropriately control their connections, monitor their traffic and behavior, and block any malicious behavior.
All of this needs to be done in the context of how a device is used so that only the actions and privileges that are required to support the business are sanctioned.
Vigilance is so important. It’s reassuring to have the experience of Davichi cyber security professionals in your corner helping you to navigate which security solutions are truly effective and to know how to layer the security approach to provide you with the most reliable protection for your digital property.

Tip #4 KEEP A CLEAN MACHINE
Keep all software on internet connected devices – including personal computers, smartphones and tablets – current to reduce risk of infection from ransomware and malware. Configure your devices to automatically update or to notify you when an update is available.

Tip #3 WHEN IN DOUBT, THROW IT OUT
Links in email, tweets, texts, posts, social media messages and online advertising are the easiest way for cyber criminals to get your sensitive information. Be wary of clicking on links or downloading anything that comes from a stranger or that you were not expecting. Essentially, just don’t trust links.
