Who else has become a crazy plant mama this year? My Pilea zebrina needed a haircut, so I’m going to try to grow a new one using my new propagation station from 🌱 Not sponsored, just love it!

As we come up to the first anniversary of my mother’s death, I am moved to do something to raise awareness. Something productive to do with the love I still have for her. Please don’t be afraid to talk to your doctor if something isn’t right 💖
September is Visit foundationforwomenscancer.org for information specific to gynecologic cancer symptoms and treatment, risk and prevention, clinical trials and survivor stories.

The only sewing I have done for ages... it’s been a long time since I had to sew ribbons and elastics on pointe shoes - the last time I did was for myself! But Miss Almost 13 has started pointe so I had to learn how all over again!

The littlest JH girl is 10! We celebrated with a pug themed ice skating party. We love a party theme! I made her T-shirt and the big JH girl and I made her cake. Now we have 2 tweens in the house... send help 🤣

After New Years we spent 2 weeks in Northern NSW - Lennox Head, Yamba, and Byron Bay (Tallow Beach). What a stunning part of the world - a good dose of vitamin sea was good for us all

Where to start? We had a lovely Christmas. It seems like absolutely ages ago now. I was dreading my first Christmas without mum but I made a decision to focus on what I had and making the best memories with the girls.

2019 has been quite the year for me. So much love but also so much pain and loss. I’m looking forward to a fresh start in 2020. Still moving forward and a lot stronger after that all 2019 brought and took from me. Happy New Year to you all.

43. As my dad said, the birthday is inevitable, but it’s your choice whether to make it happy or not. So I got dolled up in my new frock (a surprise gift from ) and put on the stunning earrings that he made me for our wedding earlier this year. And we went out for a beautiful birthday dinner at our favourite . I have lost a lot this year, but my heart is still full ❤️

~life update~ I don’t quite know where to start. This year has brought some amazing moments, but has also brought some devastating lows. The worst of which is that I lost my mum last month to cancer. I am navigating my way through the grief. I am not sewing or creating at all at the moment. But I will again. Anyway I will share bits and pieces of life as they happen, and I hope you will stick around as this page changes and evolves. Jacarandas are still my very favourite trees, and they are spectacular in Brisbane at the moment 💜
