One Small Stitch Beginner Sewing Classes

One Small Stitch Beginner Sewing Classes

Welcome to One Small Stitch! Our small group, project-based classes take the intimidation out of learning to sew. Surprise yourself by what you can make!

One Small Stitch Beginner Sewing Classes are currently on hiatus over winter, but if you're interested in being part of the next round of classes please email Danielle at [email protected]
Our Friday Night Sewcials are still running, once a month, over this time. If you enjoy stitchery of any kind, you and your latest project are always welcome to join us for some quality creative time. Which will probably involve cake. ###

I made this up just as a class sample last November - and I've hardly stopped wearing it since! It's been the perfect, throw-over-everything summer garment...and I LOVE this Camilla and Marc printed rayon 😍 (None left at Joy's Fabric Warehouse, sadly, though they still have plenty of other gorgeous designs) Make your own this Friday night at our Kimono Jacket Class! Email Danielle at [email protected] to reserve your place.

A huge and heartfelt thank you to all of you gorgeous girls who were part of our November and December classes.
Part of your class fees have gone towards the purchase of a sewing machine and a six month tailoring course for one precious Indian woman, through Empart Australia. How inspiring to think that we can make a difference through sewing! THANK YOU for helping to slow the vicious cycle of generational poverty. ###

I'm delighted to announce that we now have gift vouchers for sale - just in time for Christmas! Give someone you love the gift of creativity... or just treat yourself! Email Danielle at [email protected] ###

I was so delighted to read Kartina's comments on her experience of Saturday's class! In starting up these classes my main aim was to see people surprise themselves by what they could make and feel empowered and inspired to go on creating for themselves. Yay Kartina! You are just awesome... Wishing you very many happy sewing hours on your new machine! ###

"Thank you Danielle for the fantastic class! I am proud to say that I've sewn a skirt ! Not only Danielle prepared a lovely spread with tea and biccies on the day, but I also love the fact that this was a small class so Danielle was very attentive to all of us ! I am very much a beginner in this and knew nothing about sewing and I also pre warned Danielle to be patient with me.So glad she is super patient and so lovely! She brought a few samples of the beautiful skirts she made and that inspired me to make another skirt! I would recommend this class for anyone who would like to learn how to make skirts/pjs/kimono jackets or those who'd like to learn sewing on the sewing machine. What a great learning experience and may I add that I'll be buying a sewing machine soon ..😁 ( I am also proud to say that I've "conquered" the hardest bit of all- sewing the zipper onto the skirt!)"

Thank you to all of you who were part of our Friday and Saturday classes last weekend. What a fantastic job you did! Hope you enjoy wearing your new jacket or skirt, and receive all the compliments you deserve! ###
