We are very sad to announce that due to the current global situation WebMUN 2020 will be cancelled.

The safety and well-being of our team, as well as the attendees to our yearly conference is of utmost importance.

Meet Anna, our Social Media Management and Digital Affairs Officer! 👩🏻‍💻

Anna is an undergraduate International Relations student at Webster Vienna with minors in Economics and Philosophy. Originally from Ukraine, she came to Vienna to continue her academic studies and professional development in the public policy field. Anna has a wide array of interests ranging from humanitarian aid affairs to global economic disparities. Currently she is developing an online platform with a global perspective for Webster students to facilitate academic exchange.✈️

Be part of one of the most active committees in WebMUN!📸

The Press Committee will work independently from the rest of the committees. It will be composed of delegate reporters, who will be taking notes and pictures, writing articles, filming, and collaborating with WebMUN’s Media Team during the conference.🎥

For this Committee we are looking for qualified and experienced individuals in the fields of journalism, media, and communications, preferably with previous Model UN experience.🌏

Loren is a senior at Webster Vienna pursuing a double major in Media Communications and Psychology. Together with the media team, she is responsible for creating content for our social media platforms and coordinating the team during the conference. Backed by her experience and enthusiasm, she will be adding to the success of this year’s conference.

Meet Julia, our Social Media Management and Digital Affairs Officer!👩🏻‍💻

Julia is a Webster Vienna University Alumna, with a BA in Media Communications & Marketing and a minor in Political Science. She has experience managing communication channels for different organizations and is responsible for maintaining WebMUN’s social media platforms, creating graphics and video production.📸

As one of the principal organs of the UN, the Security Council takes the lead in determining the existence of a threat to the peace or act of aggression. It also calls upon the parties of a dispute to settle it by peaceful means, recommends methods of adjustment or, in some cases, it can resort to breaking off diplomatic ties, imposing sanctions or even authorize the use of force to maintain or restore international peace and security.🕊

At WebMUN you can choose from 6 different committees, but which one should you pick?🤔

Today we will be introducing you to the General Assembly, one of the six main organs of the UN. All 193 Member States of the Organization are represented in the General Assembly. They discuss and work together on a wide array of international issues covered by the Charter of the United Nations, such as development, peace and security, international law, etc.🌎

Stefie is a senior at Webster University Vienna, majoring in Business Administration and Management. She transferred from WU and is very successful at organizing our events. With her experience she will be making a great contribution to our conference for the third time!

CHECK OUT WEBMUN'S COMMITTEES❗

This year WebMUN will consist of 6 committees: General Assembly, Security Council, ECOSOC, OPEC, Diplomatic Corps and Press. As well as of 193 member states, and a high level of interconnectivity!🌏

❗Most importantly, the structure of the committees aim to support the *interconnectivity aspect* of the conference. The composition of countries in the committees is similar, thus a country is represented in several committees. The delegates representing these countries will then meet to discuss and co-ordinate their country's efforts and policies in all various committees.
