Starting today …

Dear ESBRA members, colleagues and friends,

We are looking forward to see and meet you in person at our 18th ESBRA congress (7-9 October 2021) in Timisoara, Romania. I am pleased to inform that we will organize this year three young investigator symposia with the kind support from the NIAAA, French REUNIRA and ESBRA. Applicants should submit their abstracts (no more than 500 words) through https://esbra.medevents.ro/ and in parallel to ESBRA ([email protected]).

Deadline is End of March. Each accepted young investigator will be obtain travel support the registration fee for the congress will be waived.

There will also 4 poster awards and submission for poster abstracts is also open now (deadline end of June).

We need to ensure there is no confusion and mixed messaging around acohol consumption and associated risks through clear and consistent pan-European information.

Alcohol & Cancer!

Alcohol consumption has been linked with at least 7 types of cancer - unfortunately this is not widely known. We need more actions that will bring into clear focus for citizens the increased cancer risk from drinking alcohol.

Alcohol abuse is an independent risk for, and primary cause of, liver cancer - accounting for half of all liver cancer cases in Europe. During Awareness Week on Alcohol Related Harm 2020 we call for greater policy action to address the problems alcohol can cause.

ESBRA as an international society has it's own scientific journal which is "Alcohol and Alcoholism" with impact factor 2.4...Waiting for your submission
