Before touching skin, an apprentice might spend hours tapping patterns into sand or barkcloth.

In Samoa, tattooing knowledge was often passed from father to son through years of practice. Learning began with the tools, the rhythm and the patience to repeat a movement until it became familiar.

Even the materials held a history: traditional tattooing combs were made with sharpened boar’s teeth, turtle shell and a wooden handle.

Behind the marks was a craft learned slowly, across generations.

Was als Tattoo-Wochenende beim Beatpatrol geplant war, endete für uns im organisatorischen Chaos.

Erst vor Ort erfuhren wir, dass unser Tattoo-Stand nicht in der Liste der Standbetreiber eingetragen war.

Deshalb durften wir am 4. und 5. September nicht arbeiten. Trotzdem blieben wir vor Ort und halfen am Freitag sogar beim Aufbau der fehlenden WC-Anlagen.

Von den Veranstaltern hieß es, wir könnten unsere Sachen bis Mittwoch abholen. Als wir bereits am Montag zurückkamen, war unser Zelt verschwunden. Unsere dort gelagerte Ausrüstung im Wert von mehreren Tausend Euro war beschädigt beziehungsweise zerstört.

Wir möchten wissen, wie es dazu kommen konnte und wer die Verantwortung für den entstandenen Schaden übernimmt. Weitere Betroffene, Zeug:innen und Medien können uns gerne per DM kontaktieren.
Die drei verlosten Gratis-Tattoos gibt es natürlich trotzdem: Wir haben die Gewinner:innen bereits kontaktiert und freuen uns darauf, die Tattoos bei uns im Studio umzusetzen. 🖤
