Goris Crochet produces a wide variety of hand-crocheted, high quality items. It is aimed at providing jobs for unemployed women in the region.
Among the most popular is their large collection of over 50 different little animals and the bags of Armenian fruits and vegetables. Goris crochet is one of the Goris Women in Development "Resource Center “Foundation’s projects. Now 52 unemployed women from disadvantaged families are able to make money by making wonderful handicrafts which with the support of “Homeland Development Initiative" Foun
dation (HDIF) are sold in different European countries and in the USA. The Honorary Consul at Royal Norwegian Consulate Timothy Straight, who is the founder of HDIF, has his big contribution in designing the Goris Crochet products. For many of these women, this work is the only source of income and the only opportunity to earn a living. Goris Crochet Club members produce small animals, fruits and vegetables. In total these women artisans produce more than 100 items of handicrafts. They are made from 100% natural materials and have a certificate of international quality and are safe for children.
85% of the profit from all sales goes directly to these artisans, while 15% of the income goes to the Foundation and is used for future activities including the purchase of raw materials and other expenses. Our women enjoy good working conditions and are committed to transparency, accountability, and capacity building. Goris crochet-ն Գորիսի Կանանց Զարգացման “Ռեսուրս Կենտրոն” հիմնադրամի ծրագրերից է, որն ուղղված է տարածաշրջանում գործազուրկ կանանց աշխատանքով ապահովելուն: Այս պահին անապահով ընտանիքներից 52 գործազուրկ կանայք կարողանում են գումար վաստակել՝ ստեղծելով հելյունագործ հրաշալի արտադրատեսակներ, որոնք “Հայրենիքի զարգացման նախաձեռնություն” հիմնադրամի (ՀԶՆՀ) աջակցությամբ սպառում են գտնում եվրոպական տարբեր երկրներում և ԱՄՆ-ում: Goris crochet ապրանքների նախագծման գործում իր մեծ ներդրումն ունի ՀԶՆՀ հիմնադիր, Նորվեգիայի պատվավոր հյուպատոս Թիմ Սթրեյթը:

Goris crochet-ի ապրանքների վաճառքից գոյացած գումարի 85%-ը տրվում է աշխատող կանանց, իսկ 15%-ը մնում է հիմնադրամին` հետագա աշխատանքների կազմակերպման, հումքի ձեռք բերման և այլ ծախսերի համար:
