The call for entries for the 23rd edition of Tirana International Film Festival 2025 is open!

Tirana International Film Festival is accredited as a qualifying festival from the AMPAS - Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the European Film Academy to be nominated for the Best Short Film, which will be eligible for the Oscar® Awards 2026 and the Best European Short Film for the European Film Awards 2025.
The officially selected Student films at TIFF are eligible to compete and apply for the Student Academy Awards® (SAA).

Festival accepts submissions in all running times, genres, topics, style and production technologies and in the following categories: Fiction/Live Action, Animation, Documentary, Experimental and Video Art.

Films in competition must have been completed after January 2024. All films in competition must be an Albanian premiere. Entries must be submitted by May 21, 2025.
You may submit your films through our online platform: FilmFreeway. TIFF offers exclusive discounted pricing for FilmFreeway Gold members.

This call is open also for the 4th Screenplay ContesTIFF 2025, that consists in the application of original live-action and animated short film scripts or other short form scripts of all genres (max. 20 pages) through the Filmfreeway online platform.

Pas një pune të gjatë disamujore dhe disa draft propozimeve interesante, kemi kënaqësinë e veçantë të shpallim versionin përfundimtar të imazhit të ri zyrtar për edicionin e 22-të të Tirana International Film Festival 2024.

Posteri është konceptuar dhe realizuar nga Babak Safari, student i doktoraturës në fushën e Arteve të Bukura dhe Konservimit të Artit në Akademinë Polako-Japoneze të Teknologjisë së Informacionit. Me mbi 13 vjet përvojë profesionale si drejtor artistik dhe dizajner grafik i pavarur duke bashkëpunuar me vende të tilla si SHBA, Italia, Polonia, Gjermania, Kanadaja, Australia, Brazili, Greqia dhe Britania e Madhe. Punimet e tij janë paraqitur ose vlerësuar në mbi 70 bienale, festivale dhe ekspozita ndërkombëtare. Përveç kësaj, Babak ka dhënë mësim në universitete në Iran dhe Poloni dhe ka mbajtur ekspozita personale në Itali, Iran, SHBA dhe Poloni. (babaksafari.com)

Posteri zyrtar i TIFF 2024, me sloganin e ri “duket i thjeshtë, mbetet kompleks”, ndërthur artin dhe teknologjinë në një mënyrë artistike. Ai tregon një dorë të lidhur me një kamerë filmike, duke simbolizuar shkrirjen e krijimtarisë njerëzore dhe teknologjive të reja.

Frymëzuar nga "2001: A Space Odyssey” e Stanley Kubrick, përdorimi i ngjyrave të kuqe dhe blu ndihmon në balancimin e ngazëllimit dhe besimit - e kuqja simbolizon energjinë dhe entuziazmin, ndërsa bluja përcjell qetësi dhe besim.

Slogani i festivalit, "duket i thjeshtë, mbetet kompleks", flet për natyrën e dyfishtë të filmave: duken të drejtpërdrejtë në shikim të parë, por që përmbajnë shtresa të ndërlikuara mesazhesh. Theksi mbi "AI" nënvizon rolin kryesor të inteligjencës artificiale në këtë proçes.

Si slogani ashtu edhe dizajni vizual i kujtojnë audiencës se filmat e festivalit nuk janë vetëm tërheqës vizualisht, por edhe të pasur në thellësi dhe kuptim. Nëpërmjet elementeve të ndryshme vizuale dhe një slogani krijues, posteri përcjell gjallërisht koncepte komplekse. Ai tregon në mënyrë efektive rolin e inteligjencës artificiale në krijimin dhe analizën e përmbajtjes, zhvillimin e efekteve të sofistikuara vizuale dhe dëgjimore si dhe krijimin e përvojave interaktive të personalizuara për shikuesit.

Qasja artistike dhe konceptuale e këtij posteri inkurajon soditjen dhe fton shikuesit të eksplorojnë sferën e ndërlikuar dhe krijuese të filmave. Ai përcjell me mjeshtëri mesazhin e festivalit dhe thekson rëndësinë e inteligjencës artificiale në të ardhmen e artit filmik.

After several months of long work and several interesting draft proposals, we have the special pleasure of announcing the final version of the new official visual identity for the 22nd edition of the Tirana International Film Festival 2024.

The poster is conceived and realized by Babak Safari, a doctoral student in the field of Fine Arts and Art Conservation at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology. With over 13 years of professional experience as an artistic director and freelance graphic designer collaborating with countries such as the USA, Italy, Poland, Germany, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Greece, and the UK. His works have been featured or awarded in over 70 biennials, festivals, and international exhibitions. Additionally, Babak has taught at universities in Iran and Poland and held solo exhibitions in Italy, Iran, the USA, and Poland.

The official poster of the Tirana International Film Festival 2024, featuring the new slogan "looks simple, remAIns complex," blends art and technology in an artistic manner. It showcases a hand connected to a film camera, symbolizing the fusion of human creativity and new technologies.

Drawing inspiration from Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey”, the use of red and blue colors helps to balance excitement and confidence—red symbolizing energy and enthusiasm, while blue conveys calmness and trust.

The festival's slogan, "looks simple, remAIns complex," speaks to the dual nature of films: appearing straightforward at first glance, yet containing intricate layers of messages. The emphasis on "AI" in "remAIn" underscores the pivotal role of artificial intelligence in this process.

Both the slogan and visual design remind audiences that festival films are not just visually captivating but also rich in depth and meaning. Through diverse visual elements and a creative slogan, the poster vividly conveys complex concepts. It effectively showcases artificial intelligence's role in content creation and analysis, the development of sophisticated visual and auditory effects, and the crafting of personalized interactive experiences for viewers.

The artistic and conceptual approach of this poster encourages contemplation and invites viewers to explore the intricate and creative realm of films. It adeptly conveys the festival's message and highlights the significance of artificial intelligence in the future of the art of filmmaking.

DEADLINE IS COMING for the entries to the 22nd edition of Tirana International Film Festival 2024! The Regular Deadline is May 22, 2024.

The officially selected Student films at TIFF are eligible to compete and apply for the Student Academy Awards® (SAA).

The Submissions’ Call is open for the 22nd edition of TIFF 2024, which will be held on September 22-28, 2024. The directors, producers and distributors are invited to submit their films, that have been completed after January 2023, through the following online platforms: FilmFreeway, Shortfilmdepot and Festhome. TIFF offers exclusive discounted pricing for FilmFreeway Gold members.
All films in competition must be a National Premiere.

The Daily Program of TIFF combines more than 200 premieres of feature and short films in competition in all running times, formats, genres, topics, style and production technologies in the following categories: Fiction/Live Action, Animation, Documentary, Experimental and Video Art. Open to any filmmaker from over 120 countries around the world, TIFF showcases new cinematic work by established directors with international reputations as well as movies by talented students and young artists.
