In keeping with the theme for Black History Month, we honour Dr. Prince Ramsey. He was a medical practitioner who rose to fame as the Clinical Care Coordinator for HIV/AIDS in Antigua and Barbuda.

His cultural absorption and devotion were undiminished by his grasp of and enthusiastic commitment to the demanding science of medicine and healthcare practice. He affected innumerable lives in so many ways as a medical practitioner, as well as a philanthropist, writer, and producer of calypsos.

At NYAM's 171st Anniversary Discourse & Awards in 2018, Dr. Benjamin delivered the discourse on health inequities and the role that a new social compact could play in reducing disparities and achieving health for all. Later in the evening, NYAM honored Dr. Smith with a posthumous award of fellowship, which had previously been withheld in 1847 when he was originally nominated

Early detection saves lives. We're in the middle of a pandemic, however breast cancer is still a threat to many women. Get screened. Your life may depend on it.

12/10/2021

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the ASC Library is holding a "Hat & Scarf Drive". A drop-box has been placed in the lobby of the Administration building and persons are asked to contribute head coverings throughout the month of October.

These items will be donated to the Breast Friends Organization to assist persons who may need them as many lose their hair during Cancer treatments. Kindly participate and make a contribution towards this worthy cause.

We are also requesting that we all wear pink on Fridays for the duration of October, in solidarity with our commitment to observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Thank you for your support.
