Why Network Security is Needed
• Protect personal data
• Protect company data
• Prevent hacking and misuse
• Ensure safe internet usage
What is the OSI Model?
The OSI Model (Open Systems Interconnection Model) explains how data moves through a network.
It has 7 Layers:
1️⃣ Physical
2️⃣ Data Link
3️⃣ Network
4️⃣ Transport

What is Wireless Networking?
Wireless networking allows devices to connect to a network without cables, using radio waves.
Example:
• Mobile phone on Wi-Fi
• Laptop in a classroom
• Smart TV at home
What is Wi-Fi?
• Wi-Fi is a wireless networking technology
• Based on IEEE 802.11 standards
You don’t need to go deep into standards now.
What is an IP Address?
An IP address is like a home address for devices on a network.
It helps devices find and communicate with each other.
📌 Example IP Address:
192.168.1.1
🔹 Without an IP address, devices cannot communicate on a network.
🔹 Every device must have a unique IP address.
👉 IP addressing is a core topic in CCNA.
