یک سازمان مدافع خبرنگاران افغانستان می‌گوید آزادی بیان در دولت اشرف غنی نسبت به دولت حامد کرزی محدود شده است.
در گزارش این سازمان آمده است، که در سیزده سال حکومت حامد کرزی ۶۱۰ مورد خشونت علیه خبرنگاران ثبت شده بود، در حالیکه تنها در سه سال حکومت وحدت ملی ۶۲۰ مورد خشونت در مقابل خبرنگاران صورت گرفته است.
