Dubai is set to introduce a new “smart medical visa” for patients travelling to the emirate for treatment. 🏥

The initiative, developed in partnership between the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs and the Dubai Health Authority, aims to better integrate visa, residency and healthcare services. 👩🏾‍⚕️

Officials say the move will create a more seamless system for international patients and support Dubai’s position as a global hub for medical tourism. 🩺

Currently, medical visas in the UAE allow stays of up to 90 or 180 days, with options to extend depending on treatment needs.

The UAE welcomed over 32 million hotel guests in 2025, marking another strong year for the tourism sector. Hotel revenues exceeded AED 49.2 billion, reflecting a 9.7% increase compared to the previous year. 📈

Average occupancy reached 79.5%, ranking among the highest globally, with around 100 million hotel nights recorded. These figures highlight sustained growth in visitor demand and reinforce the UAE’s position as a leading global travel destination ✈️
