A life time moment for Our Own English High School, Sharjah( Girls’)family for winning the prestigious HAMDAN BIN RASHID AL MAKTOUM AWARD FOR DISTINGUISHED SCHOOL & SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION CATEGORY.
Our Own English High School Sharjah -Girls has been awarded The Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic performance in the Outstanding school and administration category 2016-17.
In addition, we have two students who have won Sheikh Hamdan Award and another two students who have won Sharjah Excellence Award.
The winners of Sheikh Hamdan Award are:
1) Neola Jennica Castelino – Grade 7
2) Shradhdha Kannappan – Grade 4
The winners of Sharjah excellence award are
1) Vrinda Mohan- Grade 11
2) Shrika Sengupta- Grade 8

An informative health talk was conducted for the Grade 3 students by our school doctor Dr. Khadijah on 22nd February’2017. The significance of eating a balanced diet, regular exercise and timely sleep were emphasized for keeping oneself fit and active. The ways of maintaining personal hygiene were also discussed.
The LWA Parents’ Quiz and the valedictory function was held on 20th February, 2017 in the school auditorium.
The Quiz master for the parents’ Quiz was Ms. Anitha Sanalkumar, Teacher - Home Science Department.
Seven couples participated in the finals and the winners were:
1st Prize - Mrs. & Mr. Khushlani (Parents of Divyanshi – 2D)
2nd Prize – Mrs. & Mr Ejaz Ahmad Khan (Parents of Mahaa Khan – 6D)
3rd Prize – Mrs. & Mr. Mohammed Imranuddin (Parents of Hafsa Mehreen - 6A)
The participants and winners of the parents quiz were felicitated with trophies, gift vouchers and certificates.
The student quiz finalists and winners from Grade 1 to Grade 11 were felicitated with certificates and trophies at the valedictory function.
Winners of the staff quiz were honoured with trophies, gift vouchers, gift hampers and certificates.
The LWA Teachers Quiz was held on 19th Feb 2017 in the school auditorium.
The Quiz masters for the Teacher’s Quiz were Primary Head, Ms. Shobhana Sripathi and KG Head Ms. Priya Ramchandran. An exciting round was also hosted by our Principal, Ms. Asma Gilani.
Seven teams consisting of three teachers each participated in the finals and the winners were
1st prize – Ms. Mini Jayapalan, Ms.Gini Saju Mathews and Ms. Merlin Sunny (Grade 4),
2nd prize – Ms. Elizabeth George, Ms. Reshmi Xavier and Ms. Susan John (Grades 7 & 8)
3rd prize – Ms. Fauzia Khalil, Ms. Alfiya Parveen and Ms. Shency Joy (KG2)
All the teacher participants and winners honoured with trophies, gift vouchers, gift hampers and certificates.
OOS (Girls’) celebrated the Kindergarten Graduation Day based on the theme ‘Our Kindergarten Years’ on the 16th of February, 2017 in the school auditorium.
The auditorium was packed with proud mums, dads, grandparents, family and friends. The Principal, Ms. Asma Gilani appreciated the parents and the teachers for the fantastic role that they play to facilitate learning in the students’ lives. The august presence of Ms. Nadia Petrossi, Manager - Parental Engagement, GEMS was an encouragement to the school’s endeavours. Not only did the students showcase their myriad skills, but the event also had mothers performing for the little ones.
