BV attorneys Mary Gerbig, Saveon Grenell, Alana Leffler, Brett Schnepper, and Brian Waterman presented at CESA #7’s School Law Day yesterday. Their presentation covered: top 10 special education traps/tips; various school safety topics, including sharing information with law enforcement, use of Fund 80 for SROs, and mandatory reporting; and wage and hour and open enrollment law updates. Thank you to all who attended, and for CESA #7 for organizing the event!

Claire Hartley, Mary Gerbig, Alana Leffler, and Gary M. Ruesch presented a Legal Update during the Buelow Vetter social at the WCASS conference. To counteract the dreary winter weather, their presentation contained only good news! For example, did you know that schools do not need parent permission to contact a student’s doctor to verify whether the doctor wrote the medical excuse/instructions provided by the parents?
