President Trump has signed an executive order on health care which experts say could leave behind many older and sicker Americans and negatively affect essential benefits.

President Trump's order may increase the availability of cheap, short-term insurance plans by allowing purchases across state lines through large group association plans. Experts are concerned this will increase costs for many and negatively impact coverage as association plans can offer lower-quality insurance that may lack coverage for services like the ten essential health benefits, which include pregnancy and newborn care, hospitalization, mental health and substance abuse services and rehabilitation.

Former State Senator Sue Bartlett takes an opportunity in her obituary (read to end) to lend support to the nurses in Helena, who just successfully reached a difficult agreement that includes a much-needed raise. Her life's work of lifting people up remained constant even after her passing. Our deepest appreciation and sympathy goes to Sue and her husband Gene Fenderson. We're humbled that caring for nurses was a part of her final thoughts.
