Wiley Rein LLP

The Raising the Bar Committee of the Washington Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division invites all diverse rising Second and Third Year Law students, who are participating in their school’s On Campus Interview Program, to attend our Pre-OCI Prep Session on Thursday August 2, 2018 at 6:00PM at Wiley Rein LLP (1776 K Street NW).

After speaking with a number of interviewers from various law firms, we have noted that many diverse students fall short during their 20 minute on campus interviews. This Pre-OCI Prep Session is meant to provide students with important bits of advice, including the must-dos, the should nots, and potential landmines.

Why Now: Normally, these programs are held during the Spring Semester, but since students do not know their grades, rankings, journal or moot court statuses by then, the information may not be as impactful. At this point, now that students have their academic information and are fresh from their summer internships, they will be better able to apply the information they receive.

Inviting 1 BR In-Law Suite with Full Kitchen - Guest suites for Rent in Washington, District of Columbia, United States

This is a note to those graduating this May.

Professor Llezlie Coleman has asked for us to share that following note.

"I have a 1 bedroom in-law suite (with separate entrance and a full kitchen) in the basement of my home that I recently listed through AirBnB. I typically don’t list it for weekdays, but I would be happy to do so for BLSA families and friends that will be in town for graduation in May. I’ve included the listing below. I’d make it available for $100/night (plus the cleaning fee and the AirBnB charge) from Tuesday May 15th through Monday May 21st. If you look at the listing, those dates are currently blocked so other AirBnB travelers can’t book them. If you’re interested, I’ll send you a special invitation for the particular dates.

My home is in the Brightwood Neighborhood not far from the intersection of Georgia Ave., NW. and Military Road. It’s 15 minutes by car from the law school. It’s also a block from the 63 bus that runs between the Takoma Metro and the Petworth Metro. It’s a 6-7 minute drive to Takoma Park/Silver Spring and a 10 minute drive to Petworth."
