[11/22/20]   It has been about a month since we have shared an update, so here's where we're at:
We're in the process of moving, which is where nearly all of our extra time is dedicated to. We have deadlines to meet, and simply don't have any extra time. Depending on how the next few weeks go will probably determine the rest of the winter. We apologize for the things that have continued to delay our community service, and haven't forgotten about y'all!
If these things continue to deter us from carrying on our mission this winter, we will consider refunding this year's donations, or will just save it till the 2021 season.

With the success we had last year, our local workload has nearly tripled! We enjoy helping those in need. Our 1977 Dodge Tradesman can do it's fair share, but it just isn't going to keep up with the amount of work we already have, and project to have this season.

We're getting started earlier this year so we can be better prepared and organized. Below is a list of how your donation can help, as well as a link to other platforms for donations.

How your donations can help:
- Fuel for Equipment- We use a lot of fuel.
- Preventative and Corrective Maintenance - A lot of equipment is involved, and used heavily.
-New Equipment - Though maintenance generally preserves the life of equipment, sometimes equipment just can't be repaired.
- Miscellaneous Expenses - Like most things in life, unforseen expenses happen. We like to be prepared for those.
- Advertisement - Our work needs to be known, and without paid advertisement, it would be hard to reach all the families who need help.
-And, of course, Fuel for Our Bodies a.k.a. Snacks and Meals on the Road - We must be healthy to continue the strenuous labor of splitting and hauling wood in the traditional manner we offer.

[09/28/20]   Ah, what a year this has been. With all of the bad things happening in this world, we are still here for help, hope, and heat! That's right, Bear Brothers will be back up and running this season. We will be limited in our operations, but still doing our best for the community. Here are some guidelines, ways to donate, and how to contact us.

+ Our region will strictly be one-hour away from our location. Any further, and customers will have to meet us half-way, or at the one-hour point, which ever is closer. This helps us utilize our donations in a more appropriate way, as well as reserving more time for more customers.
+ Each load will consist of about 1/4 of a chord. If customers desire more, there will be a $40 charge for each 1/4 chord thereafter.
+ Each customer can be served up to 3 times for free. Any more than that, and a service fee will be charged, dependant on the circumstances.
+ Some situations may be exempt from these guidelines.

We are still asking for donations! We have opened different outlets to better suit each donor.

[02/17/20]   Listen, we were given a 031AV Stihl, with an extra 20" bar and chain, by a man named Eric Kalvans. Good man, great reputation, and a wonderful working saw. Thank you, sir! You are a great man!

Phones are down. Truck's "minor repairs" turned into "major repairs". Bear Brothers will be out of service for at least a week, if not more.....We apologize for the inconvenience. Until then, we will still be getting firewood ready for when we are back in service. 💪🪓🌲🔥

***UPDATE***
Truck is unstuck, and almost ready to be back on the road. A few minor repairs, and we will be delivering tomorrow. We will try to get to everyone asap!

No reverse + trailer fender stuck on tree, deep in woods + eager hillbilly = stuck...like, STUCK stuck. Lucky to know a guy with a tractor, named Donkey, to dig me out tomorrow.

[02/10/20]   We are working on getting our phone lines back in working order. Until then, we can still be reached through Facebook!

This fine young man is officially 7 years old today! He is a very intelligent, respectful, inquisitive young man, with a heart bigger than the world itself. Without him, there would be no Bear Brothers. Happy Birthday, Wyatt! You've made a world of difference in this world!

[02/04/20]   Examples of where your donations go, and potential amount of families helped:
$5 - chainsaw fuel for 1 day (3 families)
$20 - 1/4 tank of fuel (3 families)
$50 - chains sharpened, bar oil, and 2-stroke oil (multiple families)
$100 - a full tank of fuel, and an oil change (no less than 8 families)
It's time for new tires! A set of tires would last until next season, at least! A $1,000 donation, or a sum of, would buy us a set of fair tires to continue what we do.
Also, hauling all this wood has worn on the trucks transmission even more. Reverse has been out for a while, and it's starting to "slip" in between 3rd and 4th gears. Dave's Transmission in California, MO quoted a rebuild at $1,200, and a 1 week wait time.

[01/11/20]   Ol' delivery truck gets around great in snow, but NO vehicle gets around well in ice. With much regret, Bear Brothers is unable to make any deliveries today. We served 4 families last night, but unfortunately, we were unable to get to any more. If you have NO firewood for tonight, still contact us. We will do our best to get local church ministries to you.
With the possibility of the salt trucks getting the roads drivable, we may be able to make a few small, local deliveries when/if the roads get better.
